First Night In Suggestions

We will be arriving earlier than usual - about 5pm or so to the hotel. Will be staying at All Star Music. It will be a long travel day so want a relaxing night with an early end. Will arrive Friday night of Easter weekend - thinking either go to another resort/DS for dinner and then back OR enjoy the pool and eat at our food court.

Keeping it counter service no ADR as we don't want to stress if there are flight delays.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

That's a rather late arrival, I personally would just explore your hotel, eat there and hang out rather than trying to go somewhere else. By the time you get checked in, get bags in room, grab a car/bus to go somewhere else and get back, that isn't my definition of relaxing.

But usually on my arrival day I always head over to Disney Springs since there is a lot of options for food, but I usually arrive a lot earlier than 5:00 PM.

We would go to the pool and eat at our resort. After a long travel day I would be ready to just relax.

We always like to spend the first evening at the resort. My wife calls it "letting the pixie dust slowly settle on our shoulders". So I'd say your plan sounds good. We like to have a TS meal, but if you're worried about delays I'd go with pool time and the food court. Maybe wander around the resort if you've never been there before.

You could always go to Mara at AKL and check out the animals. Or Capt Cooke's at Poly and watch MK fireworks from there. Those suggestions are also based on the food choices at those 2 QS, which we love! Have fun!

You didn't say if you will have a car. Without a car, I would stay and just spend some time at the pool. Heck, even with a car, I might do that. If you have a car, I would consider going and check out Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner. It isn't too far from the All Stars.
