My family (14 of us) are going in March. What could we do the first night? We won't be arriving in Orlando until 3pm. We'll have six kids - ages range from 14-3...would Chef Mickey's be a good place for dinner? We were going to do the Hoop de Revuew - but it headed up being around $650! for all us. Yikes. Any ideas? Thanks!

Chef Mickey's would be fun and you would get to see Mickey and Minnie on your first night and get autographs and photos. You are still looking at close to $400 for your size group though.

Everyone may be a little tired and cranky arriving that late on a travel day, so it may not be money well spent. You would either have to rush to get there for an early dinner seating, or schedule it for later in the evening and risk pooping out and meltdowns.

Where are you staying? I would recommend a Pizza Party at the resort and then catch the fireworks and Electric Water Pageant from CR. Even room service/food court Pizza's would save you alot of money over Chef M's or HDDR. Pop Century has a really nice food court.

Are you staying on site? If so, you could hop a bus to the MK, then take the boat over to Fort Wilderness for dinner at Trails End Buffet. Its nothing fancy but good on the wallet, and heah, its the same chicken and ribs as the Hoop De Doo Review anyway. They have a petting zoo, but dont know if you would arrive in time. You could then take a monorail tour around the resorts and we like to view wishes from the Polynesian beach. That should pretty much get you all in the disney mood. There is also the character dinner at the Grand Floridian if those characters interest you.

You could take the family to the Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club, and then spend the night on the boardwalk. My kids always seem to have a good time there, and you could watch the fireworks from illuminations from the bridge or from the boardwalk near Atlantic Dance.

I like the Ft. Wilderness idea also, and then you could use the boat to hop to the contemporary (they have a good arcade) and also the Wilderness Lodge (watch the EWP from the beach).

We're doing the BW thing on our first night there in Feb.

We are a group of 11 going in April. We will be tired from traveling and have 5 kids chomping at the bit to swim. We will eat food court and let them have their fill of swimming. If there is time we do many of the other suggestions. $650 is a lot to spend on travel weary kids. I'd wait.
If this is a first visit. Head straight to MK. Eat junk!! :Pinkbounc
