First Night Dinner

I know there has been alot of talk about this but I am still unclear and need your opinion...

I usually do chef Mickeys on the first night... Get's you in that Disney mood but it is just DBF & I and I want to try something different that is a little quieter but still has the Disney fun... I want dinner early enough so we can go over to the Poly and watch the fireworks from the beach.. here are my thoughts.. what do you experts suggest...

Ohanas
Concourse Steakhouse
Kona Cafe
Citricos
Grand Floridian Cafe
Narcoossee's

or do we really splurge and do the California Grill!!!

Let me know what you think.. So many menus so little time!!!

Well, Citricos, Narcoosses, and CA Grill are all about the same price range. So you won't be splurging really to do CA Grill if you want to do that. That would be a great way to start your trip.

Ohanas is far from quiet, if you want a quiet more adult environment. We enjoyed it for sure, but it's loud and active with an entertainer/MC person, races through the restaurant, contests, etc.

We had one of the best meals ever at GF Cafe for lunch last trip, and I really think it's a hidden gem. However, if I was going to spend that much on dinner, I'd go the extra mile and just go to CA Grill, Citricos, Narcoosses, etc. You know?

I have not eaten at Kona or Concourse, yet, but have heard good things about both.

I'd probably try the Kona Cafe. It puts you over at the Poly (which I think has one of the best "Disney" feels to it) and the food is supposed to be wonderful!

I agree, O'hana's is far from quiet and I also agree..... The Grand Floridian Cafe is definitely a hidden gem. Delicious food, casual yet elegant. The Chocolate Fondue Dessert for two is SO yummy!!!

Narcoosee's would be my choice--Poly isn't far away and the food is good.

Another vote for the Kona Cafe. We thought the food was better than O'Hana's, it was much quieter, with the waterfalls in the lobby for background noise, and if you ask they will give you a table with some privacy. And you will already be at the Poly for the fireworks. Be sure to grab a Lapu-Lapu!

While my SIL and BIL are at the Hoop di Doo, we are going to Portobello's Yacht Club.

CA Grill would be a wonderful first meal. You can't beat the atmosphere or the food. We eat here on every trip, and have never had a bad meal. Our last experience at O'hana was not a good one. The meat was very dry.
