We will be arriving late afternoon 11/29/05 & are staing at POR- We are travling with our 3 yr old DS & our 20 yr old friend and babysitter- therefore we aren't going to try to cram in a park. I am looking for ideas for a great place to have a nice eveing meal to unwind after 7 hours of plane travel-

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks

There is the Hoop Dee Doo at Fort Wilderness or Spirit of Aloha Dinner at the Polynesian. There is also 1900 Park Fare at GF, Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Ohana's. We are arriving the 29th too and we were going to do the Hoop Dee Doo but deciding to do MVMCP instead because it was cheaper than the dinner. Good luck to you and I hope you have a great time! :cheer2:

Is getting over to World Showcase at Epcot a possibility? That's what we'll do on 12/3: walk the showcase, listen to some storytellers from different countries, enjoy the tree lighting ceremony, and then have dinner at the Rose and Crown, followed by Illuminations. No running around on that first night, but lots of fun and the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit.

On our arrival night at POFQ we have a reservation to take a carriage ride arount POFQ and POR and then we have an ADR at Boatwright's, the TS restaurant at POR. You could always take the boat to DTD and eat there too.

We went to Chef Mickeys on our first night last week. Don't get me wrong-it was great with the so many characters-really put us in the Disney feeling. However, next time for our first night we will definitely pick a more relaxing place for exactly the reason you stated-Chef Mickeys is NOT the place to unwind after travelling all day. Of, course, this is just our opinion yet it was the only time we were all cranky the entire trip! Again, just my opinion!
