First night at Polynesian - where to eat?

The "food court" at the Poly was just renovated and has more seating now. There is also seating outside. There are sandwiches and burgers from the grill, plus cereal, desserts, fruit and goodies like that for "grab and go." The best new thing is that you can get a Dole Whip -- the pineapple-flavored sherbet-type soft serve stuff formerly available only in Adventureland -- from a machine they have. YUM! There are also lots of drinks and coffee. This place is great for a quick meal but for breakfast we always prefer Kona Cafe. They serve breakfast a long time -- up until 11:30 am I believe -- and for what you would spend on all the a la carte items at Captain Cook's snack bar, you can have a wonderful sit-down breakfast.

We had the best meal and experience of our trip at Kona Cafe. Our kids all really liked their food too (8,6,5 & 2). It was very relaxing-not rushed and the food was INCREDIBLE!

Kona was also our favorite meal - we did it our first night at the Poly which worked out well. We had checked in early AM, then went to MK. Came back when the room was ready and staying at the resort for the evening gave us the chance to unpack, relax, go to the pool etc.

I can't say enough about Kona - soooo delicious!!

You could stay at the Poly and eat dinner at Kona Cafe. It's very popular for breakfast, but it's great for lunch and dinner as well. Or walk or take the monorail to GF and there is GF Cafe and Narcoosees. And Citricos, but I won't recommend that because I've had nothing but bad experiences there (well, the 2x I went). OR, the Contemporary has CA Grille and concourse steakhouse. If you want CA Grille, be sure to make a ressie! They require a credit card hold.
