Hi all, just looking some advice or feedback from all you good people.
This is our fifth trip this year and we have all our ADRs booked and sorted out.
This is the hard part now, waiting to go and not adding and adding to our ADRs.
Anyway, we've just booked Kona Cafe for the morning after we arrive. Every year in the past we've all been up at the scrake of dawn but we have deliberately not booked a breakfast cause we can't guarantee what sort of day travelling the day before would have been. Kona is booked for 10.30 am, we always go to the Magic Kingdom on our first day and we plan to get the bus from OKW then jump on the monorail to the Poly.
So my question is are we being too ambitious or do have any of you booked an ADR so soon after arrival. We are flying out of Belfast and changing planes in Newark so we will be travelling roughly 16 hours altogether.
Thanks for looking.

Are you planning to go to MK first, then leave to make it to the Poly for your ADR - or go straight to the Poly (via the MK), then go to MK after breakfast?

Presuming MK opens at 9, I wouldn't have thought you would get much done before having to leave to make it to breakfast and I would hate to be that rushed.

Generally, though, we are always up early on our first morning and much more likely to make it to an early breakfast ADR than later in the holiday. 10.30 is really not that early though so I can't see why you would have a problem. A few years ago, we went to WDW with the in-laws. It was my DD's Birthday on our first day and we made an early (8.05am) ADR at Crystal Palace for our first morning. As it was, our flight was severely delayed going out and we didn't actually check in to our hotel until gone 1am. We were still up early (albeit a little tired from a very long day the day before) and made it to our ADR with time to spare.

Just remember to allow at least 30-45 minutes travelling time from OKW to the Poly.

We usually book an 8.05 Crystal Palace breakfast, it's our favourite way to start our holiday. One year we were very delayed & were travelling 22 hours & still made it, although, we should have perhaps, stayed in bed. This year we are leaving it to our 2nd day, but that's because it's DS birthday.

Hi, sorry should have made that a bit clearer, our plan is to go straight to the Poly then on to the magic kingdom after breakfast. We thought that would be the quickest way to get there, we went to the Poly by bus from Downtown Disney two years ago and were really late for our ADR, the bus went to every resort near the magic kingdom that day, we done a tour of about 5 different hotels lol.

We definately book at TS breakfast for the first day - our 8 and 5 year olds will be up at 5am at the latest :rolleyes1 so its a great way to start the hols.

Also if you book Hollywood and Vine for Breakfast (from 8.05 I think) you can get a jump on the Toy Story Mania crowds!!! Always a good move ;)

Sounds like a great plan. :goodvibes
We always have an early ADR the first morning at Chef Mickeys, great way to start the holiday.
Kona Cafe is great and we ate breakfast there last year.

yes, definitely that would be your best plan to get there. If you aren't planning to get to MK before, then I would imagine you will be up and about and will get there in plenty of time for your ADR.

I second what Nicky (Darthtatty) said - Kona Cafe is great :thumbsup2

The last couple of trips have started with an 8.05am breakfast at Tusker House.

For June we have CRT booked and I am still deciding on December - might try Hollywood & Vine.

Never have a problem being up and ready in time and makes a nice start to the day :goodvibes

Did I read that right - your fifth trip this year?! :scared1:

I'm going to presume ive gone insane and this is your fifth trip, lol. We have booked ADRs for literally hours after arrival before, but I wouldn't do that again. The next morning is fine though as the time difference travelling West means that it's actually easier to get up in the morning despite the long travel time :thumbsup2

We always get an 8.05 ADR at Crystal Palace for our first full day there. We've never been to Kona for b'fast, we keep saying that we're going to check it out but never seem to get there! :goodvibes

I find I am up early anyway because of the time difference so breakfast early is a good idea:thumbsup2

We've never booked ADRs before on previous trips as we've stayed in a villa and so cooked. But this trip my DBF and I are on the DDP and have booked a 9am ADR for Cinderellas Royal Table on our first morning! I'll definately be awake in time for that!
Xx

We booked the Lilo & Stitch breakfast for our first morning and our plane was delayed - instead of departing at 10am we left at 8 am the following day so by the time we got to POFQ we had missed our reservation.

We tried to rebook but could not get a reservation - the CM told us to just turn up which we did with DD in her Lilo dress - they managed to squeeze us in no problems and they loved her outfit:

I've booked CRT for the morning after we arrive :D like you say we'll be up at 4am so we might as well :D

:rotfl: if only, in my defence it made perfect sense in my head when I was typing. You are indeed correct, it's not 5 trips this year but 5 in total lol. It's good to hear you have all done something similar in the past and not nodded off into your cornflakes, makes me feel a bit better.

:thumbsup2 that is a really cool outfit and a very nice picture.

We are always up early first morning but this year we have 3 days offsite before we check into OKW.
Thankfully we don't eat breakfast often, we have one booked in 24 nights this trip, most I eat usually for breakfast is cinammon roll from Main St bakery or something like a Krispy Kreme doughnut in the room before we leave. I like to be in the parks for rope drop, quietest time in the parks is when eveyone is still in bed or eating breakfast.:goodvibes

Thanks - made the outfit myself using a red dress, cut out the white leaves and used that iron on web stuff. DD is now 14 and still has the dress although more like a tshirt now!
