Remember that for a 1 year old, it is more about being with the people they love than what they ride. Small world is great, but they will also love the train, The people mover, Dumbo, etc. Have a great trip, and Hug that baby!!!
Remember that for a 1 year old, it is more about being with the people they love than what they ride. Small world is great, but they will also love the train, The people mover, Dumbo, etc. My grandsons favorite last year was Living with the Land, and the boat from Port Orleans to DTD! Have a great trip, and Hug that baby!!!
At age 2, my first ride was Small World and it made a huge impression on me. My mom says I was just in complete awe and wonder the entire time. Dumbo's great, but Small World? Pure magic
My nephew just turned one and we didn't take him even though he loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Thought he would be scared of the characters, your post has me rethinking that.
It's A Small World, the Carrousel, or the train. I would not choose Pooh or People Mover because both are pretty dark and loud. DS's 1st ride was Dumbo, but he was closer to 3 and had watched Dumbo fly via Youtube videos hundreds of times before we went and was ready to be able to fly with Dumbo.
I'll add to the Small World recommendation. It's a smooth ride where you can be very close to your child and it's colorful and bright; not dark and scary.
Great ideas thank you! Yes I'm adjusting my expectations and realize I'm on his schedule this trip- not my usual action packed trip. Can't wait to hold him in my arms at Disney!
I think your 1 year old will like anything you take him on.
When I took my 4 month old last fall we did Dumbo first thing because I really wanted a video of me and DD riding (with video taken by DH in the ride vehicle in front of us.)
Another vote for IASW. If you can take your 1yo on a carrousel at your local mall before you go, that might help, too. I also played the IASW app with my kids before we left and they were familiar with the song and look of the ride. I probably overthought it 1 year olds are flexible. 3 year olds on the other hand...
At that age, anything they can ride would be a great first ride experience. DS's first ride was Haunted Mansion! Definitely didn't plan it that way, but on our arrival day we found ourselves in MK eating at CHH and it was right across the way with a short wait.
