I'm so nervous (and excited too :flower: ). I just listed my first ever item-cross your fingers for me that all goes well! :sunny:

Good luck and Congratulations! :cheer2:

I've been selling part-time now for over a year. It can get very addicting though. Once you sell your first item, you're hooked!

Best rule of thumb - PATIENCE!! Activity usually doesn't happen until the end of the auction. Sometimes it takes a second time around to sell......Good Luck

how exciting! You will quickly become obsessed with how your auction is doing.......constantly checking it, etc......LOL!!

Have fun - ebay is the BEST! I've been selling for close to five years - it's been absolutely wonderful! It has added so much to our family with me being a SAHM - it's given me a hobby of my own - and some much needed $$!

Best of luck!

Carol

Good luck. :cheer2:

Be sure to let us know how it goes! I have been kicking around the idea of selling too! I have to get rid of all the stuff around here! It is closing in around me! :scared:

Thanks so much! :flower: How pathetic am I, I didn't sleep well last night-kept thinking about the whole thing! :sad2:
I have a few more things that I think I'll put up today-now I really won't sleep! :rotfl2:

For those of you who do PayPal, do you have the "premiere account?" Also, if you have any tips that I really should know, please share! :sunny:
Thanks!! :flower:

:wave2: Hi again!

I do have the premiere paypal account. I think it helps so there's no so much confusion. Some buyers just see the word paypal and assume that cc are accepted.

Feel free to email with any questions you might have. :flower: My ebay name is supernnp. I don't have any current auctions going since we just got back from WDW last tues and I have been way too busy, but you can look at my completed auctions if you want. :teeth:

I have started to steadily sell on Ebay a couple of months ago. I am just basically having an online garage sale - cleaning out mine and my kids' closets. I buy mostly Eddie Bauer, Gap, and some Gymboree and have made $600 a month for the past 3 months with one day of taking pics and another of listing!! I love it. When the kids go back to school I am going to start shopping around for deals to sell on Ebay. (I love to shop anyway......that's how I wound up with so much extra stuff in our closets :flower: )

Good luck!! Hope your items sell for big bucks!

I have been selling for about 9 months. Disney stuff sells pretty well. It is easiest to sell what you like or what you are interested in........ You REALLY make the best $$ on stuff you no longer want, that is laying around your house. Pure profit! It is hard to buy stuff at retail, and resell on ebay for a profit....... some people do it, I have done it here and there with some items myself.... but when you figure out your profit on those items, and the time you spent listing and shipping, it can sometimes be a break even situation. And sometimes weird stuff sells, so I try all sorts of stuff just to see.......

I would say, in my opinion, open the premiere account on Paypal. Buy a scale. Download and use Turbolister program(free from Ebay). And FIRST before selling, go to USPS site, and order priority boxes in every size they have (FREE). Let the post office pick up those packages (free) at your front door; you will print out the postage yourself on your computer. Let friends and relatives know you will accept used boxes, bubble wrap, and peanuts. In your listings, watch your keywords; they are the way for buyers to find your listings. I also have nothing up this week, but last week I did. I am so busy now, with my real job and family, I sometimes list one week, ship the next, etc.

HAVE FUN! (ebay name is dznynutty)

Thanks so much for the advice!! :flower: I'm going to switch to a Premier account tonight. I'm also going to spend a day this week really sorting thru things and do more of this!

I'm sooo excited...now I'm just hoping that these items I have listed get going!! (5+days left-I know it takes patience...)

So there are 2 people "watching" an item, but no one has bid yet with 2 days to go...is having a couple of people "watch" a good sign?? :confused3

Thanks for the input!! :sunny:

Yes having people watch your item is good. Most people won't bid until the last few hours or minutes of an auction to try and keep the price down. I find that I get the majority of my bids in the last 20 minutes of an auction. Good luck. Don't forget to keep records for the tax man.

I would be a nervous wreck! I still haven't gotten the nerve up to actually sell something. Getting a photo and putting it in and everything intimidates the heck out of me. I know I wouldn't sleep either wondering! I hope all turns out terrific for you! Maybe I will work up my nerve if it does!

Michelle

Thanks for the info-3 people are watching now-1 day+ to go...and we're going to my in-laws-I hope they don't mind me checking the computer from time to time! :cool1:

I am nervous, but hopeful! :flower:

Thanks for the tip about keeping track of sales, etc. I bought some shipping materials today (positive thinking... :sunny: ) and wrote a big SAVE on top of the receipt to remind myself!!

This will all be extra $ for our next trip to WDW!! :cool1:

Both of my items sold!!! :cool1: I listed them sort of high compared to some other things and only got 1 bid, but 1 bid was all it took to sell!! :flower:
Now I need to go through my closets....

When you say you listed them high, do you mean you had a reserve, or started them at a specific amt? If you don't mind my asking!

Michelle

Oh, yes...Congratulations!

No, I didn't have them on reserve, I started them out higher-but I see how a bunch of clothes that are put on for .99 go for LOTS of money (I was just afraid to do that this first time)-it amazes me how much some lots of clothing are going for...I'm going thru the closets tonight! :sunny:
