Well..
last night was my first homecoming dance... fun yet lame/awkward.

We had to lie our way in saying we were with these parkview students when in actuality... we weren't. They made a rule at the last minute possible that parkview students were only allowed to bring ONE out of school friend. So yea, we spent a good 30 minutes getting in with our new "dates" and then finding everybody who was scattered after we got in.
I found one of my friends who i hadn't seen in awhile and a bunch of my friends and her and her friends danced for a long time.
the dancing with friends and hanging/listening to music was the fun part,

but my date was the lame/awkward.
he wouldn't dance, at All.
if he wanted to dance(which was hardly ever), he'd come up to me and be like, wanna dance?
so i'd say Yea sure, and he'd STAND there in front of me... not dancing.
and when it came time to slow dance.. it was really awkward.
he didn't talk to me much, though he'd be clingy and follow me everywhere.. he'd keep leaving every 10 minutes to do who knows what, then he'd ask his friends and such to tell him what to do and how to ask me stuff...

yea. let's just say that i'm not going to a dance with him ever again.

so other than the lame date it was awesome.

did anyone else have a homecoming dance recently/going to go to a homecoming dance soon? If you've had a dance already, how was it (if you went)?

Sounds like you had a good time! I had my first homecoming dance on Friday night. It's not such a big deal in my school, like, we don't dress up, and we don't take dates. Anyways, the pep rally and bonfire were kind of boring, but the dance was the best part. I had so much fun, and the DJ played really great music. A few 8th graders snuck in, they didn't get caught, but they certainly made quite a scene (no offence at all to any 8th graders on here). So yeah. It was a great night :)

Last night was my homecoming dance. And at my school we get all dressed up, hair and all. I looked super cute by the way lol. But we get to the dance and i swear they played all rap with maybe 6 other songs. even the slow songs were rap. It made me sooo mad, because i swear rap is the hardest kinda of music to dance to. And most of the kids there were dancing wayy dirty for a school function. Like it was gross, my friends wanted to hear Brown eyed girl and they had to request it 7 times before the dj played it. And halfway through any of the good songs they would switch back to rap. So the music really upset me but i had a good time over all.

Eee. My first homecoming was really awkward. I went just because I figured if I didn't go I'd always wish I had. I didn't know anyone at the dance, except one of my guy friends. We just kind of sat there for awhile. Then he tried to find me a date, even though I said I didn't want him to. Eventually after about seven guys saying no, he found one. I still didn't want to dance, because everyone at my first high school danced really dirty. I REALLY did not want to dance, but after awhile I had about five people literally trying to pull me out of my seat. I gave in basically because I had no other choice.

The guy my friend found kept on trying to teach me how to dance. I would have been fine with it had it been regular dancing, but that dance floor looked like something I can't say here.

Eventually I got sick of him and his friends trying to coax me into it and I started to do it. AND JUST THENNNN someone pulled the fire alarm!! I'll love that person forever, lol.

I was supposed to go to another school that my friends went to for their homecoming, but one of my friends chose to bring her boyfriend over me. I was like...thanks...I've only known you since second grade.

My second homecoming was at that school because I got transferred, and it was way better because I was with my friends. The dance floor still looked more like a 21+ night club than a school dance, so we didn't dance. Instead we decided to have a race through the big blob of dancing students to see who could get through the fastest. Tougher than we thought. lol
