Is it ridiculous to get DD's first haircut at the barber's in MK? She'll be 9 months, isn't completely bald, but definitely won't need a haircut :) But we won't be back to WDW for several years and she'll definitely need one by then. What do you think?

You can ask for a trim at the barbershop. I'm sure they've done barely noticable first haircuts before. I was going to have my 19 month old's hair cut at Disney, but I decided to wait until next year since we booked a return trip for next September. For the $15 you get ears, a certificate, and a lock of hair to save. It sounded like a good deal to me :)

We're going back when DD is 13 months.
At this point she has, ummm, practically no hair! But, we plan to go for her first hair cut :)
She's definitely too little for Bibbity bobbity :rotfl:

ABSOLUTELY A GREAT IDEA!!!!!

We took our daughter for her first haircut last year at 2.5 Even though she was older, she still did not have a lot of hair. They evened out the back and saved a lock of hair with Mickey pixie dust. She got her first ears, pixie dust in her hair and a cool experience. I got pictures that are irreplaceable.
I would also recommend it for any older kids. Really for $15 it's not a bad price. I have paid that much at regular places for bad haircuts. The people are skilled and the atmosphere is definitely unique. My son also got a gel Mickey icon on the back of his head for $2 or $3 that he got comments on all day.

Yes do it! It is a great memory! DS didn't get his 1st haircut there, but still was very cool. They should be able to do the trim, plus they treat them extra special with the glitter and confetti things.

I am SO excited to do this! I hope we can hold out for another 6 weeks on my DS. He's started to get the "what a cute little girl" comments! :confused3

We did this, and while it was a great memory, it wasn't a great haircut. YMMV. I tend to say DD is still growing out the mullet 18 months later.

Yes I would do it. The first time haircut is very important and no matter how much hair she has it will still be magical there.:thumbsup2

I would do it if you know that the next time you come back, your dd will have already had her first cut. My dd is 3.5 years old and hasn't had a haircut yet but when we are ready, we are doing it at Disney. Her hair is curly and so it falls near her armpits. When its wet though, its past her butt! LOL. I think we will get her haircut ON her 4th birthday - probably

My DS is almost 15 months and his hair is getting long! He never lost any of it!
I am thinking of holding out on his first haircut until next September just so he can have it at Disney! He will be 2 when we go. Like I said though, I hope that I can hold out that long since his hair looks like it needs a trim!

I wanted to get my DS haircut for 1st time in Sept. It was too short I felt to really justify getting it done there at the time. I could just as easily bought him mickey ears and for less $$. And we were still in WDW, it's not like it was going to be the only memory I have of his first visit there.

We are going back in April so I hope to get the 1st cut then. If not then maybe my next child!

Do it, you won't regret it! We just did it last week and even though my DS was not thrilled about it, it made for great memories. And how many people can say that their first haircut was in the MK? The certificate is really nice and its just a special experience. Even though DS did not think so:scared:

My son also got a gel Mickey icon on the back of his head for $2 or $3 that he got comments on all day.

get out?!? Like an additional $3 on top of the haircut price, or can I just bring my DS in and they'll do just that for $3? I'm definitely bringing DD for her 1st haircut and the whole treatment on her 3rd birthday so we'll already be there!
