First haircut at the barbershop

I was wondering if they do anything special for a baby's 1st haircut. My DS will be 15 months old and I'm thinking of holding off on his 1st cut so it can be at WDW. I think my other kids will get a big kick out of it.

Any feedback would be appreciated

I am interested in hearing replies to this as well...My DS will turn 6 while at Disney in August and I was thinking this would be neat to have done!

For the first haircut they get little Mickey ears and a certificate with their name on it that says its the first haircut. Maura cut my 3 yr olds hair (2 at the time) and did give us the cert. My baby who just turned 1 will be getting his first haircut there in Oct...It hasnt really been growing all that fast so I think the timing will be perfect!
FOr my 12 yr old they put red gel in his hair and sprinkled some pd on him--he loved the gel but wasnt to crazy about the pd, lol.

The Harmony Barber Shop is a great place for anyone (male, female, young, old) to get their hair cut. All of the barbers are fantastic (we're more familiar with Billie & Michel, but Maura is a sweetie, too!) and if you're really fortunate, the Dapper Dans might just come in to entertain while you're either waiting or getting "sheared"! You never know what's going to happen there... it's one of our favorite places in the entire "World" and has been very magical for us during our WDW vacations!

My 11 month old DS just had his first haircut last week at the barber shop!!! They gave us the Mickey ears with "first haircut" on the back and the certificate with his name on it. It was great!!!!!

My 5 yr old DS also had his hair done with three different colors of gel and pixie dust..he got TONS of extra attention that day and was also treated to some magical moments from the Cast Members!!!!! He loved it so much that he had it done again on our last day!!!!!! It will be on our must-do list from now on!!!!!

Where exactly is the barber shop? I know on Main Street in MK, but I have missed seeing it both times we have been. My new little prince will be 11 months when we next go, and I am hoping to get his first haircut then!

As you enter the Magic Kingdom, the barbershop is on your left between the Fire Station and the Emporium. It's kind of tucked away in the corner. But it is certainly worth finding.

I had my hair cut (here at my normal place in my town) before my last trip and had her cut it not as short as usual- since I was leaving immediately and didn't have the "time" to let it grow out to perfection before the trip. Unfortunately she left it a little long on top and it was bugging me the first few days of my trip.
So I had my hair cut (top part) at the barbershop at MK and she did a great job!!

If the entire family goes on this next trip- my 2yr old (almost 3) will have her first haircut there. Yes, that's right..... she's never had a haircut and might not even NEED one then- but she'll get it anyway. She's only recently getting some hair and it's all mostly in the back and curling up. LOL Can't wait!
