First Family Trip to WDW - Grandparents included :7/24 Updated with Day 6!!!

Thank you to all for your patience.

Day 4 - Tuesday June 20, 2006

I awoke on Day 4 somewhat shocked that I wasn't awoken by two little knocks at the door. So as DH took a shower I went around the corner to Nana and PopPop's room. I could see it was still mainly dark in the room so I drummed my fingers on the door. Nana came to the door. (One thing anyone who knows my Mom knows, she is an EARLY riser, her best friend and her sometimes go for walks - leaving at 5am! so I knew Mom would be up at 7am). As I walked in DD woke up. I got a big smile and hug. The short synopsis of the night. Fantastic dinner at LTT, lots of character interaction, and Nana and PopPop enjoyed the food. They came back to CBR got ready to go to the big pool, and the thunder came. So plans changed they went to POR for coloring books, crayons and ice cream. DD and DS went to bed easily when Nana said lights out, without a tear! Yeah! Big thankyous to Nana and PopPop for a fun night - now off to our room for breakfast and to get ready for the day.

Day 4 was our Studios day. It was also Nana and PopPops night to themselves. So we knew our day would be broken up a little. After breakfast we all regrouped and headed to the Studios. We made one change to our "plan", since the kids didn't get to go to the pool the night before, and since the forcast we watched during breakfast called for late day thunder storms again, DH and I decided to cut our Studios day short and come back to the pool, then after a cool break we would go back to the Studios for the parade. New plan in hand we were off! We got in the park and got the schedule. We noticed the next Playhouse Disney show was in about 30 minutes so we headed that way. Now to say we are Disney house is one thing...but DD and DS were raised on Playhouse Disney! Once I decided to "let" them watch TV, I only put on Playhouse Disney. Their 3rd birthday party was JoJo Circus - before there was a single JoJo item available. (It was very cute I may add) On Father's Day they saw the Playhouse Disney theatre and begged to go in, but alas, we didn't have time. So today, on what would be our only other Studios day it was a MUST DO. First off, this theater seems larger on the commercials on the Disney Channel, I also didn't realize that floor seating was the only option. Yes there are benches along the wall, but Nana and PopPop wouldn't be able to see the kids so they sat on the floor with us. DD and DS LOVED this show, they love Stanley (DD has an old dictionary she has called her GREAT BIG BOOK OF EVERYTHING), Bear, JoJo and they thought the book of Pooh part was cute. They got up and danced and even put streamers in their pockets for home. It was one of those things you know the next time we go when they are older they would never want to do again, but now at age 5 it was so THEM and where they are in their life right now. I just beamed watching them enjoy themselves. THIS is why I insisted on bringing them to WDW when they were 5!

We came out of there and decided to head towards our next MUST DO of the Studios, the "Lights Motors Action" show. This is one thing my Dad wanted to see, and DH who is into cars and speed and action wanted to see it too. It was a nice stroll thru the backlot to get there, and it was fun to try to describe to DD and DS what a backlot was. On the way there we saw the PowerRangers - we are not a PowerRangers family, I pick and choose what the kids and watch, and they aren't on the list of shows. DS knows who they are because of the boys at school. I feel for parents who have kids who all they want to do is see the PowerRangers. We watched them come out in their fancy car, so their designated spot. The lines were long, and they were out 20 minutes tops, and then back in their car - not to come back for another hour. I saw so many parents and childern upset by this.

I digress, as we made it to the "Lights" show we were looking for the appearance of "Lightening McQueen" and "Mater". It was going to be right near the "Lights" entrance we were told, and that the cars would stop right in front. We waited, finally the "Cars" came out and did a little parade lap - they didn't stop and it didn't seem like they were heading back to the "Lights" entrance, so we went in. No FastPasses were needed on this day, the machines were covered. The venue was not empty but not filled to capacity either. We were able to move to the top and get in the shade. I gave DH the camera, as this show was not on my top interests...and I knew he would want a ton of pictures. I will say this was a spectacular show. The kids, even DD loved it. My Dad thoroughly enjoyed it too. If you like car chase scenes in movies you will love this show.

We got out of the show and the kids were hungry. I had done a lot of reading on DIS about the food choices in the Studios, particularly the counter service. Once we saw the lines at the ABC Commisary, we decided to give the kids a snack from our backpack (Large goldfish graham crackers, and granola bars) and head out early and have lunch at CBR. DH and Nana and PopPop brought the kids to the bus and I ran and got DH a FastPass to RocknRollercoaster.

We brought umbrella strollers on our trip just to make walking around CBR easy. So once we all, Nana and PopPop included, changed into our bathingsuits we gathered our essentials and headed to POR. DH told me to go enjoy lunch with my parents at the food court and he took DD and DS in the BIG pool. We had a nice leisurely lunch. We were all on the dining plan, I got a Turkey club, chips, water, and cheese cake. PopPop got a reuban straight up - for those who don't know that is without the saurkraut (sp?) and I can't remember what else, and Nana got a salad that she RAVED about. We sat inside and talked of the rest of their day. When we were done it seemed DD and DS decided they were finally hungery. So Mommy was the counter service person as they all waited by a pool table. In the end they ended up with the Chicken Nugget Buckets (Okay this was sooo cute and it was the first meal DD ate completely - for those who haven't seen the bucket - it is a small sand pail and shovel - inside are about 5 chicken nuggets and fries. This was a kids meal on the meal plan, complete with Large water and soft serve ice cream. We were given the bowls for the ice cream and told we could come back when we were ready for it) and a Turkey club for DH. We swam and hung out by the pool until about 3pm then back to the room for a quick change. Nana and PopPop were off to Downtown Disney - they had reservations at Raglan Road and hoped to get walk up seats to Cir De Sole (sp? again :confused3 ) We were off to see the parade at Studios. The only reason - to see the cars from "CARS". (My kids were the biggest fans of the movie and had yet to see it - we had so much going on before we left we promised to see it when we got home)

We got to the Studios and immediately found a place to sit on the curb - basically directly across from Vine Street. I wished we were earlier so we could have been up the street a little and in the shade. It was about 5pm and we were able to sit. Once we were settled, I went in search of frozen Lemonade. I finally found one at Dockside - yum! Kids liked it too. We had fun waiting for the parade - DS even got some of the street performers autographs. The parade was great - and I got some fantastic pictures. Immediately following the parade it was time to use DH's fastpass at RnR. The kids and I waited outside listening to the music. Being from NH, and near Boston DH found the themeing of the ride fantastic. He loved it thought it was too short! In hindsight I should have gotten him more than one fastpass. The standby line was too long - so off to Downtown Disney to do some shopping.

We couldn't go directly to DTD from Studios, we had to go back to CBR first - to get a bus. We arrived and decided to go to the end - the Leggo store first. DS had a hard time deciding if he wanted anything, so we ended up leaving and saying we would come back if need be. And to be truthful that is how the whole night was down there for us. DD was deeply saddened that they didn't have any large "Lumpys" (Large purple Heffalump - which we have since discovered seems to be a Disney Store exclusive - yes we went to our store at home, the day after we landed and bought her one) and DS was disappointed we just didn't see anything for CARS - everything was Pirates of the Carribean. So in the end DS went back to the Leggo store, and in a moment of DIS wisdom I brought DD to Once Upon a Toy and we STUFFED a box with EVERYTHING My Pretty Pony (She was actually so proud of how much we got in there - and just yesterday she said - next time we go I am going to get the blue pony princess: I have 2 friends going I may put in an order and have a suprise from tink for Christmas! ) I hit the Memories store and got a few scrapbook items. By then it was late and Earl of Sandwich had a HUGE line - so we went back to POR for a LATE dinner - nothing spectacular, except another Chicken Bucket!

[I want to alert parents of a situation that seemed innocent to these parents near us, but turned out dangerous. We were waiting for our bus. And I heard running then a yell then crying. It seemed some parents put their small child - I think around 2/3 on the ledge of the column holding up the roof over the bus stop for CBR at DTD. These kids came running by to get their bus at another stop - ran into this little boy, and he tumbled to the concrete. Fortunately it seems he only got scared. The whole thing upset my kids too. Remember Accidents don't take vacations]

Now I will interject with my parents evening...
They went immediately to Circ' and were able to get seats for the 9pm show. Their dinner at Raglan was 6pm. They enjoyed it and would reccomend it to everyone. One thing I must say my family is IRISH! Okay, not from Ireland, but my Dad's Dad was born on the boat on the way here. They said the food was superb and they loved the atmosphere. They did a little shopping at DTD (shocking we didn't run into them, it turns out my Mom and I both took pictures of the sunset that night - from about the same place - just about 5 minutes apart) and then to Circ'. They loved the show - they were amazed on the speed of the performers and that it was non-stop.

[Scrapbooker sidebar: While in the Memories store - I saw gold "ears" postcards. DD loved them and together we thought they would be great on the first page of our Disney Trip scrapbooks. They are large - they would fit best in a 12X12 album]

Next up Day 5 - Wednesday - Animal Kingdom

Hello All...it is raining here in the Northeast so I decided to write about Day 5 Animal Kingdom:

Day 5 Wednesday June 21, 2006 - Animal Kingdom

As the kids ate breakfast in the room, I went over to my parents room to find out about their night. They loved Cir'c and got back late - after midnight - so they were off to a late start. We decided to meet up about 8:30am. Today was our Animal Kingdom Day.

We arrived at Animal Kingdom about 9:30ish...we met up with a Disney Photopass photographer and had some pictures taken outside the park. I had read all about the Photopass on DIS, and before the trip Mom and I decided buying the CD would be the most cost effective for us. We figured we would each want at least one picture from each park - so if we just combined all Photopass cards to one account it would work out. And because of this decision, EVERY time we saw one of these photographers, Mom insisted we stop. And like reccomended on DIS, we had the photographer take many different picture combinations! (Wait until I tell you about Day 6's surprise and how a Disney Photopass photographer was part of it - but I am getting ahead of myself) Okay once in the park - we gathered our maps and entertainment schedules, this was a day we decided to bring the umbrella strollers with us. We found it just made for happier kids, they were able to keep up with us on a full day, and at times when we wanted to move quick - we didn't have to worry of them keeping up. This was a great asset when we discoverd the River Rapids had only a 30 minute wait. But the safari was high on our list too - our solution - DH, Nana, PopPop and kids headed for rapids - I took all passes and RAN/fast walked to the safari. I didn't think I wouldn't get a fastpass - I just thought I needed to hurry to make sure I got to the rapids before they got on the ride! It worked out great - Fastpasses were for noon, and I made it to the rapids just as they were going to get in line (they stopped for a bathroom break - and of course didn't run/fast walk). DD was measured, met the height by a hair and was given a special orange band on her wrist. She isn't my daredevil so we had to "talk" up the ride. Once in the "tube" she was given the seat with the safety bar (I can't think of any other way to describe this big metal bar that came down over her). I forgot to say that this was one ride my Mom had been talking about for months. Dad had warned me about getting wet, I read on DIS about getting wet. I put my camera in a ziploc and put my hip pack in the center console. I brought ponchos for the family - but for some reason I thought this ride had a picture taken (remember this is our first trip with the kids - I was at AK 7 years ago when all they had basically was the safari) and I didn't want to have us all in orange and green Target special ponchos. Shame on me as there is NO picture and DS and I were the ones to get SOAKED! Thank goodness God had not blessed me with a large chest, and that I wasn't wearing white! In sort of slow motion I felt the water come over my seat, from the top of my head down to my toes. DS didn't get as wet. DD didn't really get a drop on her, and if you ask her she thinks it is because those who sit in the special seat don't get wet. princess:

Oh well I'm wet, so we are off to the safari. DH decides since we can get Fastpasses to go get some for me and himself to go on Everest. It is about 11am - and as I noted in earlier posts we learned eating earlier was better than later with our twins. So we headed to Tusker House. And DH meets up with us. I had read so many good things about this place...I told everyone in my family it was WHERE we were going to eat lunch, or at least I was. Added bonus it is right near the safari. DH liked it because it was air conditioned. With PopPops good table manuvers we got a table quick. Awesome meal all around. I got 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans, water, and a huge slice of chocolate cake. DH got a chicken sandwich, and the twins got the kids meal of drumstick, mashed potatoes and apple sauce. Nana got a salad, which she actually went up to the counter and asked them to tell the chef it was one of the best chicken salads she had ever had. I have no clue what PopPop had.

When we were done it was off to the safari. We saw lots of animals. Even the lion and lioness. The kids loved it. The only comment was they were a little scared by the CMs talk of the poachers - we reminded them it was pretend, so in the end it was okay.

After we got out of the safari it was time for PopPop to go pick up a rental car. So Nana stayed with us so DH and I could go on Everest. We had ADRs for Mexico so we told PopPop meet you at Mexico at 5pm! We had a little time to kill before Everest - so we walked around, went to Dinoland playground, and made sure we had a bathroom break. It was about 2:45pm...our Fastpasses were for 3pm and we needed to leave the park about 4pm to get to Epcot in time. Nana got a picture of DH and I with the white caps of Everest in the background. I then went and got snacks for the kids to eat while they waited with Nana. And incase you are wondering I finally dried out about 2pm. Make note of that, because I had about 45 minutes of being dry, because just as we decided to walk down toward Everest and find a place Nana could sit with the kids the heavens opened. Then it started to thunder. DD got teary...she hates thunder. DH really wanted to go on Everest - it was on his 11 rides he wanted to make sure he didn't miss...I on the other hand was going on Everest to say I had, I am sort of a ride wimp - but I have this - I have to go on it once thing (this only applies to Disney - I could take or leave rides at Six Flags etc.) But with DD's tears I was considering not going...and Nana knew this - I am her daughter - In a firm voice she told me "We'll be fine GO". I took out ponchos for the kids, and gave them a kiss. We were off. We walked up and saw a HUGE Fastpass line...DH is trying to figure out what is going on. Because of the thunder they shut down the ride. It would open about 10 to 15 minutes after the thunder stopped. It was now after 3pm - with PopPop waiting for us in Mexico - and of course he didn't bring his cell phone - we needed to leave for 4pm. We watched the clock. Our agreed "gotta go" time was 3:25 if the line wasn't moving by then we had to go. Well of course in a true nod to pixie dust - the line started moving at 3:20pm. Okay I won't say much about the ride as I don't want to spoil it for others. DH LOVED it - I came off dizzy. I actually had to have DH guide me so I wouldn't fall. Of course we stopped and bought the picture - I had to prove I did it and then off to see Nana and the kids.

They faired pretty well during the storm. Nana to her credit told DD that the thunder she heard was just from the ride Mommy and Daddy went on. Nana apologized to me for lying - but it did the trick. It was about 3:45pm - I told everyone to get going as I knew the parade would start about 4pm and I didn't want to get stuck. We quickly got to near the park's entrance - popped into a gift shop for some quick shopping and sent it back to the room - LOVE THAT FEATURE. (I had postcards to send to fellow DISer's to "pay it forward" and I hadn't bought a single postcard yet!)

Then we were on to the bus and EPCOT. I picked Mexico for dinner as PopPop can have some picky tendencies. We arrived and was immediately seated. Margaritas were great - food so so. I can't even remember what I got. Mom and I spoke yesterday and both agreed that is the only restaurant we would have changed. In hindsight I wish we had PopPop meet us back at Animal Kingdom and spent more time there and ate at Tuskers again. We ended the night by going to the Germany train exhibit. We tried to get in Soarin' again - but the standby line was 110 minutes and no more Fastpasses. Then we decided for the four of us it was time to go back. We wanted to hit EMH in MK the next day and therefore decided to get to bed early. Nana and PopPop stayed to wander Epcot a little.

So ends Day 5...next up Day 6 Magic Kingdom - Why did PopPop need a rental car...What is the special surprise I talked about for Day 6...I'll write all about this extra special day in MK real soon.....

I enjoyed reading your report. We are going in November with my ds (5) and my dd (2.5) and grandparents! Really looking forward to your next post!

I have truley loved reading your story. What priceless memories!!! My DH and I are going in Nov. Can't wait!!!

We're heading down for our first family Disney trip with two boys 4 & 6 - also staying at CBR. HOw did you like this hotel? I'm glad to hear the kids meals come with a pail and shovel - one less thing to pack.

I'm also going to bring two umbrella strollers!

can't wait to read more

The only thing I found wrong with CBR was the luggage pickup service. We had a 12:30 bus with Magical Express...we called 10:45am to have our luggage picked up and it almost didn't make it to the bus. We were refusing to get on.

We stayed in Trin South - a corner room which I highly reccomend. We were a 2 minute walk to bus stop, and right next to the South pool. I didn't mind the walk to POR to get my ice tea. I am glad we brought Cheerios for the room so I didn't have to bring the kids to POR each AM for breakfast.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much...I am having fun writing it. It will help me with my scrapbook journaling

I will try to do our special day at MK tonight...it was an extra special day...

Hello all...DH has some work to do tonight...so as he is mowing the lawn and the kids "helping" :cheer2: I will start my Day 6 report...

Day 6: Thursday June 22, 2006

Hmmm...what is the special part you say...well I'll get right to it, by way of some background first.

Now let's take a short trip back in time. Nana and PopPop were leaving on Friday to have one day to themselves before we got there. We don't live in the same town, so I had to call the night before to wish them a good trip - and to remind them to USE the DP and not to pay out of pocket for food until I got there (they had dinner at Le Cellier on Friday night). I got my Dad on the phone, Mom was having her hair cut. Dad is a man of few words. I told him have a good trip - Love you Dad. And he says we have a surprise for you. Okay a lot of things go thru my mind...they gave me Disney $$ at Christmas so I could stay at CBR - where they wanted to stay, what are they paying for now, what else is going on I booked all their meals there is no way they called and did anything what could it be? Okay I didn't have to wait long to find out the surprise, my Dad is of few words, but he can't keep surprises, especially big ones. Dad says, "Your sister is coming". My mouth drops - "What?"

As I said before we have been "planning" this trip since before my twins birth. We have always said, "We are going when they are 5, if you want to go you are welcome, we will tell you the dates" For the most part any "takers" we have had were from my family. The takers where my Godmother, who lives in Fl and my sister. My sister, lives on the other coast in LA. Unfortunately we don't get to see each other often. She works for an event planning company, and even though she tried with all her might, flights and work schedule made it impossible for her to make it. Until about 4 weeks before we left my godmother, Nana's sister, and husband were going to join us for a day, drive up from their home in Fort Myers, but "work" got in the way. So with both of our takers unable to get away from work we settled on our main group of six for the trip.

My sister is a single 30 something, with no kids - who strives to be the COOL aunt. She wanted more than anything to "share" this special trip with my kids. She had worked the entire weekend prior to our departure - Dawn till late at night. She was attending a wedding in the Dominican Republic the weekend of June 23 - 25th. So on Thursday June 15th she decided to do one last try to see if she could get a one way red eye flight from LA to arrive in MCO in the early AM June 22nd - Behold she called and "found" one exactly the times she wanted for the budget she wanted - and she booked it - THEN called my Dad to tell him. We just had to try to figure out how to get her from the airport at 6:00am - hence why PopPop picked up his rental car early. I knew before my Mom - and I'll tell you she was crying when she called me. I decided not to tell DD and DS, what a surprise it would be for them.

So now we are back to the morning of Day 6. The four of us are heading to EMH at MK, I know my sis will have to shower and get something to eat - but the kids don't know she is here yet. We start down the hall toward my parents room and Auntie - comes around the corner and says surprise. Big hugs go around - I had tears - what a special sister I have to travel all this way because "firsts" are important to her. I am tearing up now even. So we had our plan, they would get ready - in the uniform - and call us when they hit MK.

The uniform you say: Well I am a photography hobbist. Last year when my inlaws were all going to get together I took a family portrait. It was on the beach and everyone was dressed in white shirts, khaki shorts and barefeet. It was tough with 13 people - 6 of them childern - it's not a perfect picture, but my mother has covetted (sp?) this picture since it was taken. So as soon as it was found out that Auntie was coming everyone was told to pack the "uniform" and we would have Disney Photopass take the picture of us infront of the castle. So if you were in MK on June 22nd and saw 7 people dressed in White and Khaki - that was us!

Enough of background - off to MK!

We hit MK and immediately headed for the Carousel. It was the #1 thing DD wanted to do during the trip and we hadn't done it yet. She beamed. Then on to Dumbo - we had a little wait - but imagine the thrill when DD even got the Dumbo with the yellow hat - her favorite color! Then it was to Pooh and followed by Peter Pan. It was about 10am - I called Nana to find out they just entered the park. We met up on Main street and gathered and found a Photopass Photographer I can't even tell you all the combinations we did infront of the castle on Mainstreet. Then Nana wanted to head towards her favorite topiaries. And right at the rose garden was another Photopass photographer - and another 25 pictures were taken. I will say that was my favorite spot - no people behind you.

Photoshoot done - it is off to Fantasy land to "It's a Small World". Auntie and the kids ride in front - and the rest of us just sit and enjoy this special family time. It was getting close to lunch - but forethought made us decide to quickly do the tea cups BEFORE we ate. The four of us went to Cosmic Rays (of course - kids and DH's preference) and Nana, PopPop and Auntie took our passes and got fastpasses to Splash. I gave Nana the photopass card with instructions to go to the camera shop and preview our pictures - I couldn't guarantee clean kids the rest of the day - and if we needed to to a redo, sooner was better. (She determined they were great - since we got home and looked online - she determined they weren't great - but BEAUTIFUL and we bought the Photopass CD)

As we finished lunch PopPop called to tell us to come over to the Horseshoe saloon as Woody and Jessie were out. They were the only characters left on our wish list - so with strollers ready to go - we got their to find Auntie waiting for us. After our meeting with Woody and Jessie we told Auntie it was her day and pick a ride. She picked Haunted Mansion. This happens to be my Dads FAVORITE ride - I don't know why. We made it inside the mansion and before a cast member could say one word or the elevator doors open DS said "No Mommy", DD "No Mama". I asked for the exit and waited outside. As we waited a tour group came out and the tour guide showed everyone where the "Ring" is! I was so excited, because I was trying to find it as I was waiting with the kids - and I wasn't looking anywhere close to where it was! Everyone came out thoroughly enjoying themselves. After a bathroom break it was off to Splash!

I had no doubt my DD might object to this ride, but I really wanted to go on, so did DH so I just crossed my fingers. She must have felt brave with Auntie as she didn't say a word. We went on, as one big group - all in white! She ducked for the drop and therefore we can only see the top of her head in the picture - but I bought it anyway. Friends I know buy pictures of their kids crying with Santa because that is how they were that year - that's the memory. Well that was our memory of Splash!

The line for Thunder was too long - so we decided to get a snack and head to Epcot for our ADR. The kids got the large twisty popcicles - which they loved - Nana and I got a Dole Whip - YUM - my first one!

We took the monorail to Epcot of course - this was going to be DD and DS first time on the monorail. DS had been eyeing it the whole trip - he's a boy - he loves trains! DH asked the attendant if the driver compartment was available, and it was! How great - DS was in heaven! I loved the copilot cards they gave out.

We got to Epcot - had a few Photopass pictures taken. Then I brought everyone over to something I had been saving. I went over to Innoventions and went to to the Disney Visa Hospitality area and we had a special photo taken with characters. Okay those of you who have the Disney Visa should do this. It was so awesome. We walk into a private room and Minnie and Goofy were there. We had plenty of time to play. I took pictures, Mom took pictures and there was a Disney Photopass photographer there too. It was about a 15 - 20 minuted experience - awesome. One special note - Goofy is my sisters FAVORITE. When we went to WDW for the first time when she was 10 we tried with all our might to get a picture of her and him. That was before queues and waiting nicely so her only picture of her and Goofy is with other people we don't know and only of her head and Goofy from the waist up. And she has never been able to get one since. So I made sure I got a great picture of him and her. He gave her a big hug. And she told him he was her favorite. Okay now the best part of this special character meet and greet - you get a free 5X7 from the session. We had one big family picture taken with Goofy and Minnie. So Cute!

Okay now we are off to dinner. Since this is Nana and PopPops last night Nana wanted to eat at her favorite place - Teppanki in Japan. We arrived for our ADR and were seated within 15 minutes at our own table - they did tell us we may be joined by 1 person - but no one ever came. It was a joyous night. The kids and I ate with chopsticks for the first time. Okay we used the "training" chopsticks. We all laughed, us grownup had a few cocktails. My sister introduced me to sushi - and I tried green tea ice cream - very nice!

After meandering thru World showcase a little we headed to Future world. Auntie and DH went on Mission Space no spin. Then we himmed and hawed about Test Track and if DS could go on. Then DD wanted to go - well she met the height yet another hair - so DS, Auntie, DD, DH and myself went on Test Track. DS and Auntie in the front - He loved it! He tried to raise his hands outside in true "roller coaster" fashion - but Auntie had never ridden Test Track before and her daredevil nephew all of age 5 years 2 months was making her nervous so she made him keep his hands down. DD - well she buried her head in Mommy - but to her no one can say she didn't go on! Unfortunately we missed getting a good spot for Illuminations - I was disappointed at first - but in hindsight - our time together in Future World was more fun for the kids, and better "scrapbook" memories. We watched the fireworks near the entrance to World Showcase from Future World. Then we did a little shopping. It was a EMH night - but we all decided to go back to CBR. It was time to say goodbye and Thankyou to Auntie - PopPop needed to take her to MCO at 4am so she could make her flight to the Dominican Republic. She was with us for less than 24 hours - but they were some of the best hours and memories we will have. How blessed I am to have a special sister to travel 3,000 miles to spend just one day in MK with me and my kids.

Next installment Day 7 - We are on our own...where will we go?

PS
If someone wants to PM me how to add pictures I will add a few if anyone is interested.

Your sister reminds me of mine. When my daughter was born, she promised her that on her 5th birthday she would buy her a green velvet dress and take her to the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker. Little did we know that 5 years later she would be living 3,000 miles away! But, she kept her promise and flew home for the weekend, green velvet dress in hand!!

I am really enjoying your report!

Thanks...that is so something my sister would do. She is trying to save some money to move back "home" - well this coast anyway.

I'm a little sad there is only really one day left to report on...I better get working on those scrapbooks to keep it alive a little longer!

My 33 yo sister is everyone's favorite too! She actually lives between Orlando and Daytona and will stay at WDW with us when we go in December. She is very excited about seeing WDW through the eyes of my children. She has also arranged a business trip so she can join us at the house we've rented on Lake Michigan in a couple of weeks. My kids adore her and speaking of scrapbooks, she has done her own for each niece & nephew!
