First Experience with FP+ not a good one.

Same here. Pretty much got what we wanted. The times were off a bit but not enough to make a difference. Hope everyone's wish list was filled! It was nice having company during this "stressful" time:dance3:

Some of the times were not exactly when I wanted but close enough.

Did you go back into your FP+ list and manually CHANGE the times to closer to what you wanted?
That's the way the (very non-intuitive) system works with setting custom FP+ times.

You can still do so, of course.

Yes, this is what I did last night.

Robo I have been reading here for a while and you can usually be counted on for good advice.

Your glitch city post is not helpful.

Seriously???? What exactly would you like him to tell you. It's a glitch!

And if you've been reading here for a while, then you will have seen that he posts this on lots of other glitch threads. Geez!

Glad all my fellow August 19th'ers were able to get what they wanted! I ended up going to bed and woke up at 7:30am and didn't have any issues (we wanted A&E later in the trip anyway). See you all in 60 days! Hope this was the last glitch we face - not betting on it but hey, we're going to Disney!!!

Your glitch city post is not helpful.

Neither is a post that says nothing more than that another post is not helpful.
It the litmus test for posting was that the post actually be helpful, then most threads would never get past page 2. :rotfl2: This is a community of friends. Friends joke around to lighten the mood. We live with that truth, or we move along.

So it is 1:00, Disney online system is in the central time zone I guess.

See you all on Aug 19.
No, it's a glitch for sure. It's gets a lot of people but others, myself included can book at midnight Eastern. Whatever it is it's been getting some people for a while now. Does exactly like it did for those in this thread, the F+ date "jumps" to their check in date and then at 1:00 AM it works. There is something in some MDE accounts that is different, somehow. With enough analysis of the data in those accounts someone could figure out the common thread I'm sure. But in those affected accounts, they don't turn on till 1:00 AM eastern.

Hopefully the next time folks have this problem they'll see or remember this thread and know they can book at 1:00 AM.

Yesterday my 60 day window finally arrived. I definitely understand how people are excited about getting to finally make their selections. I was excited too. I did wait until after my breakfast yesterday, and I then sat down, and figured it all out. I had no problem choosing exactly what I wanted, and I even made a few changes later in the day.

It seems easy enough, and since I chose fastpasses early on my days, I am hoping to be able to get a few more in the parks, when I am actually vacationing. Especially on my parkhopping days.

Yep. That's the nature of a glitch. No advice is going to change it. All you can do is lighten the mood and kill some time until it corrects itself. Or not.

I arrive August 19th and was allowed to start making my reservations today June 20th, I waited until 8am this morning, I can see how the system is glitchy though.

Just to be clear for Maybeecatlady and JimmyV...

I was actually not serious when I posted that Robo's post was not helpful.

I do know that Robo was being funny and I do know that Robo has posted that a number of times to be funny when the same type of thread is going on.

I too was trying to be funny by telling Robo he/she was not being helpful.

I know that Robo knows that in this case he/she is being funny instead of helpful, so me telling Robo what he/she already knows is not serious but is also a joke.

I do believe that Robo and all of the other posters that were keeping eachother company last night while waiting for 1:00 am weren't offended by my post in the same way the Diser's who got up this morning to read along after the fact were. Sorry if I am wrong about that Robo.

I also do not believe that the WDW online system is on Central Time. That was just another minor joke at 2:00 am only for the benefit of the others who were up with me an hour later than we had expected to be.

I am also aware I probably did not even have to stay up last night to get all of my FP+s. I probably could have done it this morning with the same success. But heck, I am going to WDW in 60 days with my family and I am excited to see how this FP+ thing works. BTW I thought it was awesome once it opened for me.

Sorry for the post everyone, I just felt it was necessary after checking in to the post today and seeing how much I got bashed on Disboards by people who jumped into the thread the next morning.

CaptainCook - sorry if I misread your post (along with others). It is certainly hard to read something in writing because you cannot hear the person's tone. For myself, anyway, it would have helped to understand that you were joking if you had put something like this after your comment: ;) or one of the numerous other choices.

Regardless, I am sorry that I jumped on you for your comment. And glad you all were able to finally get the fastpasses you wanted. :)

Saturday at midnight is my time to book. I'd be excited if I wasn't so nervous about messing it up. I see where you choose which FP+ in which park and it assigns times. How do you tweak those without messing it up?

You have to do that after you book them initially. Just take the times it gives that are the closest to the times you like and then tweak them when you finish.

I read a rumor that they are going to change the start time to 6:00am, same as dining. They do systems maintenance during the night so it's not a good time to have a lot of activity.

Actually, it's much easier and quicker to pick the times that are the complete OPPOSITE of what you want. So if you want morning FP times, pick the evening times at first. Then click to modify. Change each of the three rides to the times you want.

The reason this works better is this: Say you want FP for Space Mountain at 10am, SDMT at 11am and Peter Pan at 12pm. You login to select FP and it gives you SDMT at 10:30am, Space Mountain at 11:45am and Peter Pan at 1pm. You think to yourself, "ok, that works for me, except I don't want to jump between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland like that. I want to flip SDMT and Space Mountain." You click on SDMT to modify it, but it won't allow you to take a time slot similar to your middle time slot, as it shows taken by Space Mountain.

Pick times that you don't want, and it's easier to modify to times that you do want. It's far more flexible.

That's the way the (very non-intuitive) system works with setting custom FP+ times.

Yes, did this and got pretty much what I wanted with a very small difference in time by about 10 minutes which is close enough. Didn't feel the need to waste time for the few minutes. But thanks for the information!!!

I'm in the same boat. I think the same thing has been happening to others and the system hasn't been working until closer to 1am EST.

This is what I have been seeing lately as well. Must be that the system rolls over around midnight and it takes it a bit to get ready for the new bookings. :thumbsup2

I just finished my FP+ on day 60 - got onto the sight at midnight no problem.
What a royal PITA!! It just took me 50 mins to make and adjust FP+ for 6 park days. Not once did they come close to what I wanted - I had to go back in and adjust each FP+ for a different time. If Disney is going to make us do this so far in advance, why can't they at least just show us all the available times to begin with and let us pick what we want??? Oh yeah, because they are trying to control where everyone goes when.

On my first park day, 2nd day of our trip, so technically 61 days from now, I could only get Anna & Elsa at 7:20-8:20 at night - there were NO other times available the entire day. So much for our plans of EMH at MK that day and using our FP+ before lunch. Thankful there are only 2 of us on this trip to plan for! I really dislike this level of planning. Enough of this - going to bed now:headache:.
