First ever stay at FW Cabins -- car vs. WDW transport to/from each park?

Okay, the basics:

1) Family of 5 -- me, Mrs. HardShell, Junior (6), and the twins (3)

2) We will drive down and have the Griswold Family Truckster with us at all times.

3) We use our own (double) stroller for the twins; on every prior trip we've also had a stroller for Junior, not sure if he's outgrown that or not.

4) We don't park-hop and we don't return mid-day for naps -- so each day it will be travel to one park, enjoy as long as we want/can, then back to the cabin (and on to HDDR one evening, I think).

5) 6 days/5 nights, staying in a cabin at FW for the very first time (prior stays were either CR or POP).

6) No water parks or DTD -- just the "Big 4."

I assume that we'll want to use the internal FW busses and boat launches to go to the MK and back, but reading some of the guides it looks like we might do better to drive our own vehicle to EP/DS/AK and back. Is that right.

Any advice from you FW veterans out there will be greatly appreciated! :)

I've stayed there without a car. Worked similar to POP/POR. Save the money .. take the bus!

Other than gas money it won't cost you anything to drive to the parks from the cabin. Except for MK(as the op already mentioned) it may be better to drive to the parks. If you get there early enough to not need a tram it will be easier to drive, unless you have one of the cabins within walking distance of the Outpost bus stop. The nice thing about driving from the cabins is that you don't have worry about parking at your resort when you return, you have your own space at your cabin.

We took the boat to the MK (a very relaxing ride) and drove our car to the other parks. We split up a couple times and did the buses to and from the parks. They weren't any better or worse than the buses at other resorts. I like driving to the parks...much quicker.

Enjoy the cabins...and try to see Wishes from the beach. That's one of my favorite memories.

I thought parking at the Parks was $15 a day. My Bad .... just thought it would be 6 x $15 in savings ...
