I don't know if I'm allowed to post the same thread in three different places but I thought since I'm going to spend about half of my vacation at Universal it makes sense to post it here too :goodvibes I'll just post the Universal chapters in here and if you wanna read the rest just click on the link in my signature :surfweb: Feel free to drop by and say hi!

First EVER Florida Vacation! The 'no planning' PTR!

Ok, so this is my first PTR as it's my First EVER trip to Florida!

Not only are we doing WDW!

But we're also visiting Universal!

And SeaWorld!

And I am beyond excited! :cheer2:

I'm not really sure how PTR's work so I'm just gonna go with what feels right and tell you what I can. Please be kind and feel free to give me some pointers if you think I'm going wrong!

The reason this is called the 'no planning' PTR is because I'm not the one who's planned this trip :thumbsup2 I guess that will make it kind of hard to do a PTR but it's helping me get out some of my excitement and hopefully will lead to some hints, tips, and maybe making some friends on the DIS along the way! :grouphug:

Coming next....

.....The Cast of My Florida Vacation!

Chapters:
Chapter 1: The Cast of My Vacation
Chapter 2: Where We're Staying
Chapter 3: When and How
Mini Update: One More Payment!
Chapter 4: SeaWorld - One Day with Shamu
Chapter 5: Guess What Day It Is!
Chapter 6: Magic Kingdom

Sounds like fun! My DS is a huge Man U fan! He has Rooney's jersey and wears it all the time.

Loving it so far Louise.....Lovely pic of Prestwick Airport.......my old local airport when I lived in Ayrshire :thumbsup2

We only ever fly with VA and love it........always had great flights with them. Had the airbus last year, but prefer the Jumbo....it has 4 engines :rolleyes1 I`m sure you`ll enjoy flying with them.

We use Alamo every year too.....never had an issue.....just keep saying no to the "upgrades" they may try to sell you.

Looking forward to more :cool1:

Thanks for the reply!

I'm glad to hear from someone who's used VA before, I've never flew with them an I was hoping I wasn't building myself up to be disappointed :rotfl:

Thanks for the tip, I'll have that as one of my mantras: "no upgrades, no upgrades" :lmao:

Quick question: how do you find the leg room with VA? I'm not especially tall (5ft 7) but I hate feeling cramped, especially on a 9 hours flight.

A lot of people say they have gone downhill over the years, I suppose they have cut out a few of the extras you used to get....who really needs a hot towel???? They get us there safe and that`s all we look for really. Food is mediocre like a lot of airlines, we bring our own snacks. But we find Cabin crew to be helpful and friendly if you need them. We are still happy to fly with them every year.

As for legroom we always upgrade to extra legroom seats. This year we have exit row seats on the way out as legroom seats were sold out, and extra leg room coming home. It does make a bit of a difference as it can feel very cramped, especially if the person in front reclines.

We`re on the jumbo both ways. I`m nearly :rolleyes1 5`7.....DH is 6 foot and DS is 5`9.

This is the extra legroom seat on the a330 airbus, DS is in the seat.

Thanks for the reply, and the photo :goodvibes

I feel a lot better now, if I feel a bit cramped I'll just have to keep getting up to stretch my legs, and I'm sure the excitement of going to Disney will keep me distracted anyway :rotfl:

There should be another update up today :)

Enjoying your trip report so far. I love your excitement! Hey, I rented a villa for a week in the Highland Reserve. We have an extended family(four generations) and a big home has worked out great for us. It has been getting harder to get everyone together at the same time now, so lately we have been staying at the resort hotels. There are advantages to both and I know you'll have a great time. Since your going in the summer please try to get your family to go back to your villa in the hot and humid afternoon for rest and pool time. Save the mornings and evenings for the parks if possible. Do you have a countdown app for your computer?

The resorts do look lovely, I'm hoping to stay on site in a couple of years if just me and my DBF go. But as you say for a large family a villa works well. I have seems lot of people suggest mid day breaks, some days we may not even leave the villa until later on so it should work out ok :goodvibes

I don't have one on my computer but I do have one on my phone that counts down how many 'sleeps' lol

Thanks for reading :goodvibes
