First Ever DISUnplugged Podcast Cruise Take Three

I know I may be shunned for this, but here goes:

I am not going to rush to the port. I am going to get up at a reasonable hour, have a nice breakfast, and a leisurely drive to Port Canaveral. I know I won't be first, so I might as well take my time and enjoy my 'vacation'.

I have thought of something recently though. Maybe AskTracy or a veteran cruiser can help me out:

If I don't have a passenger to go to the port with, do I just go return the car and have the rental places shuttle take me to the terminal, with all my luggage in tow? (As opposed to dropping off my passanger and our luggage, returning the car and having the shuttle bring me back)

This is what we usually do, even with a passenger in tow.

Given the recent turn of events regarding randomly chosen people for awesome things, if still have this "Family of the Cruise", it will most certainly will be a Dis'er, right Tracy???

I get the feeling this is going to be a race, who will be the first Podcast Cruiser on the ship?
Alanapapa and I will graciously step aside! We've had our 15 minutes of Disney fame!

You won't be shunned Todd. My Mom and I will be doing the same thing. Since we're doing this low-key and have no plans other then what the Crew has in store for us, we're in no hurry either.

And for those who choose to rush to the port, we could always set up a tailgate. MOE - GEE - TOES

117 Days until "Fun on a Boat!"

I ordered some Crocs online before New Years and got they were delivered over the weekend. Even though there was a good bit of snow, I decided to wear them to out to Meijer, Target and Office Max. They felt comfy. Although I don't think I would recommend the 'normal' (I'm not a Croc person, so I don't know the official style) Mickey Crocs for winter wear. My toes were a bit chilly, even with socks on. :cold:

We haven't cruised since 2004, so things may have changed, but the last time we actually dropped off our luggage at the port first, then returned the car and hopped on their shuttle "bagless" for the return trip to the ship. ASKTRACY: Is this still an option?

Are they lined? Try the lined ones - they keep your feet nice and warm!!!

For those on Facebook - Corey has posted some new pics of Ferris - seems Ferris is learning how to email!!!! :rotfl:

I don't plan to rush to the port, but I want to board as soon as I can...to start my vacation! I probably won't have much in the way of carry-ons either...except our booze and a few things. Don't want to be bogged down carrying stuff around until we can go to our cabin! We'll probably be renting a car and driving ourselves as well...

So who's up for breakfast on Sunday morning?

Definitely get the fleece lined ones for winter! They keep my feet toasty warm and comfy all at the same time! :thumbsup2

I'm up for breakfast. Any ideas where?

I'm so tired...I didn't finish my homework last night for tonight's class. Gotta do that at some point today. Anyone wanna do it for me?

I'm just seriously lacking motivation lately. Our homestudy update appointment is Thursday. My house is almost ready...

I just have zero motivation for anything other than vacation planning right now! I'm excited that DH is considering a short extension of our trip in May. I've got those two nights at AKL burning a hole in my pocket and I just know that he won't be able to come down in December with me...heck I don't even know if I can come down in December yet or not. I'm trying not to think about it really...While I love all of you dearly and would love to be there for MouseFest again, i'm really hoping that we get to go to China instead. I'm not counting on a regular referral for another year or two (or three) at this point, but if we are lucky enough to be matched to a waiting child, I would be thrilled to miss MouseFest! I'm sure you all would understand...

So...with these 2 nights just screaming to be used, my mind has gone into planning overdrive. Looking through menus...and ticket prices...DH and I have kind of agreed that this will be our last splurge trip before China.

But then again...we thought that our cruise in 2007 would be our last splurge trip before China...

And we thought that again when we went to Vegas in May 2008...

:upsidedow

And I just wanted to post before Jen did. This puts me one post ahead of her! :rotfl:

We're also arriving a few days early (spending some time visiting KSC), so we will either be dropping off a rental car (and being shuttled back to port) OR leaving the car @ the port to use for our post-cruise stay @ Dolphin. We will take our time and have a good breakfast before getting to port.

This is my only thing I need to book/decided on. Renting a car for the entire stay (Friday 8th-Sunday 17th) or getting a rental before and then re-rent after the cruise. We're total newbies to renting a car. For ease, I just may get it for the week and keep MY stress level down. It's a vacation right? :rolleyes1

Oh.. and I'm 90% done with my FE, I'll post a pic later tonight. I happen to have some extra fabric and if someone is in need of one I can make one up for just the cost of materials/shipping. I have enough material to make maybe 3 or 4 FE's, I'm not trying to make money here, just doing something nice. If this is not allowed, mods please just edit my post.

So how many more of these threads will we have before the cruise?

I had considered a character breakfast...but i'm really up for anything. I thought that a character breakfast would get us in the mood for the cruise!

Any favorites?

That would be awesome....isn't there something at the Yacht Club with Characters?
