IMPORTANT CRUISE INFORMATION

I know some of you are big planners and will be disappointed if the prearrival kit is not received today. I have some information for all of you.

First of all, remember there are roughly 875 rooms on the ship. Not all of the prearrival kits leave Florida on the same day and not all of them arrive with you on the same day. This is very, very general information on the cruise, but it is fun to get and read.

If you do not get one - DO NOT PANIC!!!!!!!!!! Give this a week or two and if you still do not receive the prearrival kit, send me an email with your current address on it. I ask for this so that I can verify that our information is correct, DCL's information is correct and I will see the status of when you kit was mailed out or have a new one sent.

Thank you!!!!

Didn't receive mine today but considering I'm sooooooo far away from FL (or wherever it's mailed from), I'm not surprised.

I do have to say I've been a little disappointed w/DCL because way back when we all started booking the podcast cruise I called and spoke directly with them to get my Castaway Club member #'s and the person assisting me said they would be sending me a package that included some CC things (I can't remember what all she said would be inside but do recall her saying something about a music cd) and I've never received it. :sad2:

Tracy is very smart, making a preemptive statement like this. Save her 40-some emails tonight about not receiving the packet.....

I'm not dumb :) I've got you all figured out ;)

Now she'll just receive 40-some emails from us confirming that we received the message that we might not all be getting our packet on the same day instead! :lmao:

(You can run Tracy, but you can't hide!!!)

We can link you together for dining. I caution against this unless you are planning to dine at Palo together until after everyone is done making excursion and Palo reservations. Otherwise, this can be a nightmare for you. If there are more than 5 reservations linked there is one set of issues. If there are less, there is another set of issues. The best thing to do is to wait until end of February before we start talking about this.

As mentioned before, we will link people that want to be linked. It depends how Disney is working it at the time, but in the past they had us give them a list of who would dine together. Again, this will not even be considered until late February. If you want to dine with someone for Palo, please let me know this before your date to make reservations so we can link you then.

Oh, and don't email me about this until next week please :)

Thanks Tracy. I promise no more newb dining questions. :lmao:

Well George may have promised no newb dining questions, but I didn't!

If Pete and crew are planning a podcast version of the Palo dining experience, how important is it that we still try to book either dinner or brunch? Will it still be a must-do? Will my whole vacation be ruined if it doesn't happen? :confused3

Ummm, Kathy (Safety Mom) I think we have a question for you to answer. :goodvibes

I"ll take Palo Brunch over dinner. Since Pete and Crew are planning our own version of Brunch, I am forgoing reservation rhumba. For a 4-nighter, I really want to chill and hang with my friends.

I wouldn't try for Palo brunch unless you want to do it alone. Dinner though, I just love. I may still consider dinner. Your whole vacation will not be ruined if you miss one or both. In fact, I tell first timers that don't get Palo that it will all be ok. You want to experience the dining rooms too and on 3-4 nights, there isn't a lot of time to go to Palo.

I knew I liked you! I'm thinking the same thing!!!

And I got my packet in the mail today. I haven't opened it yet. Going to wait until after dinner, or at least try!

That's exactly what I was thinking! I feel like we'd enjoy it just as much being in the dining room with friends. :goodvibes

I was worried about what night to even try for since I wanted to do all the dining rooms and was afraid a reservation @ Palo would have caused me to miss one.

You better. I think we're married.

Got my packet today. :goodvibes

I'll be looking at it later tonight. :cool1:

As some of you know, this is my 1st cruise, nevermind first Disney cruise. First priority for me is things that involve my DISfriends and all things Wonder. So excursions come secondary to getting to meet and be with you all. (Can you feel the love?) :)

My original dining question should have been pointed better. I wasn't looking to be linked to anyone specifically for dinner. I was more looking at if DISpeople would be tabled with DISpeople. I think the DIS activities for me will be the key to what excursions we are interested in. I'm holding off the real planning until I know more about DIS activities.

One thing for sure is Corey's Bar Tours. I'm all front and center. :drinking1

Yes, you can and you should do this. Again, it cannot be done until all payments are made in full.

Can castaway club members book earlier? I heard there was a perk like this but cannot remember the details. We are also doing a 7 day western trip on the magic in Aug- when can I book these?

with the 4 day I was not sure about doing Palo for dinner, as we are doing the brunch with the podcast- what is everyone else doing??

As a Castaway Club member you can book these things at 90 days prior to the cruise start. For the Podcast cruise it is February 9. Again this must be paid in advance. For Castaway Club members, I suggest you be paid in full no later than February 6, 2009 at 5:00 pm. This is because most of your reservations are in our group space and that department is only open on weekdays. If we do not receive your payment by Friday when that department closes, it cannot be applied until Monday when they open. This will be hours after the reservations become available.

we didn't eat at Palo's on our first cruise - a 3 day....we didn't want to miss any of the rotation dining rooms...

as it turned out, we really enjoyed the rotation dining rooms, so even on the 4 day cruise, we didn't want to miss eating dinner in the regular dining rooms, so we only ate at palo's for brunch...
which was fine.....we didn't feel as if we missed anything by not eating dinner there...

we so enjoyed our regular rotation head waiter, waiter, and assistant waiter that we really didn't want to miss having them serve us (they were OUTSTANDING!!!! - they made our cruise for us)..

anyway, this is a longwinded way of agreeing with Tracy - missing eating at palos is really not the end of the world....

we didn't miss it at all on the 3 day and would have been fine without it on the 4 day....we enjoyed it, but had we missed it, it certainly wouldn't have been the end of the world...
