Oh, and Patrick will be Kim, too...I don't think we're calling all the children "Kim", though...so Cassandra is probably safe.

wow - way to confuse the new girl LOL

Welcome aboard Karen. I hope you know what you got yourself into by signing up for this cruise. :lmao: Just kidding! It should be a blast!

This is our first cruise too so we plan on observing while onboard more than planning ahead. See you in May!

Hi everyone.

I'm late to the party but we're coming too.

This is our very first cruise and i'm so excited i can't think straight.

ohhh - see i've already forgotten that i should introduce myself.

I'm Kurby - aka Karen :)
dh is Patrick
dd is Cassandra and will be 3.5 on the ship.

111 pages to go through so it's going to take me a while to go through this thread and i'm sure some of my questions will be answered but i have a couple of quick ones.

Is there a site or thread that will answer all my questions?

i know there is a dvc meets get together thingy but is that for current dvc members (us) or for people who are looking for information on dvc? and when does this happen.

When our documents come in - what is included?

when does this totally excited feeling go away? if ever :)

i'm sure i will have tons of questions and can't wait to start getting to know you guys

so far it looks like the posters on the first few pages are crazy - so i think i'll feel right at home - mind if i put my feet up?

Hi Karen!:welcome: We jumped in about two months ago, and I am still too excited to sleep! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Make that 4 threads, Karen. You'll be participating in the Fish Extender exchange won't you? The sign-up for it is below (along with an explanation of what an FE is if you don't already know). The deadline to sign-up is Jan. 31st.

Karen,

You asked on the cruise meets thread what documents you need to travel from Canada. I believe you will just need your passports and photo IDs for the adults.

I'm trying to keep the answers to questions on this one thread. There's too much for me to follow otherwise.

sorry tracy. too many threads to go through late at night -

Welcome Karen and family. We're all in for a super time.

If you have not already done so, listen to the Cruise Podcast the crew did back in Nov(?).

Reading thru the past two threads will introduce you to; the cistern, cake, COBettes, Raul, the merry wives of Don, the different on-board activites being planned, pre-cruise activities and our undying love for AskTracy. There is also a Facebook page set-up for the Podcast Cruise. Stop by as you can.

4 months from today!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

119 days until "Fun on a Boat!"

Documents don't come until 7-10 days prior to the cruise. They will include a cruise contract, charging authorization and some general information about documentation to get on the cruise. Since you just signed up, you will likely get a prearrival kit in the mail shortly since many have already received it.

Tracy,

If the cruise doc's don't come until 7-10 days prior to the cruise, that may be a problem. We're leaving home on Saturday May 2 - going to New York to visit our DD, DSIL, new grandson, & 2 1/2 year old grand-daughter. We'll be leaving from their place to go to WDW, so we may have already left home before those doc's come. We did get the pre-arrival kit.

I'm sure you'll have a solution, so I'm not really too worried :thumbsup2

But on a brighter note:yay: , I was just looking at flights for all of that and I can book United for the flight from PDX to ROC for around $250, the flight from ROC to MCO (Jet-Blue) for about $165, and then the flight home with United (MCO to PDX) for about $250, so the total flights for us would be around $665. Of course that's before they add in baggage charges, but the $665 does include taxes and all the other fun little fees! United charges for baggage, but Jet Blue doesn't.

Oh yeah and if the Star Trek movie is showing on the Wonder, we'll go see it. We're Trekkies! At least Trekkies in the sense that we liked all the TV series, and the movies.popcorn:: I hope I'm not scaring anybody away!

I have been up all night and apparently I have motor-mouth (if you can have that while typing). See I just keep going!! I'll shut up now.

----- Or maybe not ----

if there are any other Trekkie fans out there, who's your favorite captain? The choices are: Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway & Archer.

Seeeee I said I was going on and on. :woohoo:

Oh yeah and Edward is HOT, but I have kids older than him! I can still think he's hot though, right? Y'know it's a good thing my DH doesn't ever read on this board.

Now you all can see why I don't post much! I ramble! Just wait till you get to be with me in person! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

~Kim

that could be a problem for us too - 3 weeks before the cruise we'll be in florida not home.

anyway to have the documents sent to our resort at wdw?

Welcome Karen!!

Not much to say...I'm still trying to wake up...dang tylenol PM...

Trekkies unite! We are definite Star Trek fans, have seen and own all the series and have seen and own all the movies. Can't wait for his one to come out. Do you really think they will show it on the Wonder?! Wouldn't that be great. As for Captains, have to go with Kirk for sentimental reasons, but I like Picard best.:goodvibes

Picard. No contest.

But Kirk is good for comedic value.

Welcome Karen & weaura! pixiedust:

weaura, you're :dance3: :rotfl: Jetblue does charge $20 for 2nd bag, just fyi since whenever I visit family, I can never get away with just one bag! :lmao:

I'm currrently netflixing DS9 - in the middle of Season 6...oohhhh! So I'd have to say Sisko, tho his contingent is so undisciplined! Of course, Capt. J T for nostalgic reasons tho I think all his smooching was so opportunistic. Capt Picard can always make it so for me! :goodvibes Who's your choice? popcorn::

Hey did you say pick one? I can't seem to do that...looks like foreshadowing for the ship: should I do this?? can I eat that?? which martini tastes best??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

cheers,
:flower3:

forgot to mention in my last post that we did get our friends (H, DW, DD6) to join the cruise! they don't know about the podcast or these boards so I'm wondering how to introduce them to the madness :dance3: without scaring :scared1: them silly :rotfl2:

cheers,
:flower3:

Finally something besides vampires (not that i have anything against them, i just haven't read the books nor have i watched the movie.)

I'm not a hard core Trekkie, enjoy the series and films, been to an event or two. I have all the films on DVD, and a lot of them on VHS (anyone remember that?  )

Regarding captains...I would have to say it's a tie between Picard and Sisko. Kirk never did anything for me. (although I like shatner on the whole.)
