just dropping in and catching up- well trying to!

so mom has to have surgery in march for her tumor. perhaps even two surgeries. hopefully we will know more details next week. but she should be all healed up for the cruise.
I will keep her in my prayers, Michelle. Looking forward to seeing you both on the cruise!

ASK TRACY...

Will there be a problem if I cancel the Disney Transfers? I am now debating getting a rental. Again, the bad influences of the people around here.

Thanks,
Kim

You can add or remove transfers up until 3 days prior to the cruise. If you take them off and then want to add them again later, we will need to get credit card information again. My advice is to hang tight for a bit and see what comes up.

Sitting here tonight, I thought of a few things....

1) Is the drink station on Deck 9 aft open 24 hours?

2) Is there someplace/something to do at 4 or 5 am? I am pretty used to only a few hours of sleep and I don't want to wake my cabin mate up with the TV.

3) Is cigar smoking aloud on board? Are Cuban cigars aloud on board (I know we cannot bring them back into the States, but for enjoyment prior to our return)?

Even just sitting on a chair watching the waves go by. I wouldn't be asked to return to my quarters would I? I don't need entertainment. I can entertain myself. (No comments from the peanut gallery, please)

1. Yes, it is open 24 hours.

2. You can absolutely sit on deck 4 and watch the waves go by. You can sit in the Atrium on decks 3, 4 or 5. You can sit in the Promenade Lounge (and even go on the internet if you are so inclined). You can sit outside of Cove Cafe or on the outsides of the deck on deck 9 (the rest of the chairs are either stacked up or don't have cushions that early. There's also a nice little table and chairs by the aft elevators on deck 5. Nothing will be open at that time, but you can go talk to someone at Guest Services if you need human interaction :)

3. Smoking is allowed in select places onboard. You can bring Cuban cigars onboard, but you cannot bring them off the ship in Port Canaveral (obviously). You can smoke on any private verandah and open decks on the port side only (deck 4, 9 or 10), however, not on deck 9 by the Mickey Pool.

Hey I missed the middle of the day yesterday here (had to go to the DISboards for something else and lost my place). I'll try to go back but did I miss anything?

We moved a lot.
So no lifelong friend's to speak of.
The cruise will change that I hope. :)
You have more friends than you can keep track of - and after the cruise you have faces to go with all of these posts. :goodvibes

During this complete unuseful conversation i was thinking ohw i miss my Dis friends they know what i mean, they feel the same, they know what i'm going tru right now....

So i just wanted to spill my guts about this so i can go to bed knowing that there are people on this world that do understand me and my love for Disney.....

Goodnight and have a peaceful night. :love2: :love2:
Yvet, the good news is all of us here are EXACTLY like you. I imagine we have all had to explain to our family/friends about our love of all things Disney. So no explaining to do here.... A big cyberhug for you  If anyone asks why you want to vacation at Disney again, just tell them it is over their heads so they just wouldn't understand. Be proud and know we are all here for you. Looking forward to the cruise to put faces and screen names together!!

Oh, this sounds promising!! The only other question we didn't have an answer to was someone needed to know about a portable steamer (if it was allowed).

Wow, tax and party aren't words you usually see together  Have a good time, I guess???

A group of us get together and have our accountant do our taxes on the same day. We each bring a cooler, along with some finger food and have a party in the back office while one by one we get our stuff filed. Then the big winner buys dinner (although this year its lunch) for everyone.

ASK TRACY...

I asked about steamers. Instead of an iron, I have a portable steamer to take out some wrinkles. Is this allowed?

Morning All!

 Quick healing pixie dust! pixiedust:

I want to go to DL this year. The Podcast team was saying something about doing something in September. I want to go when the Haunted Mansion Is done up for A Nitghtmare Before Christmas.

We will be heading to DL for the first time the week before Labour Day - DD's birthday!

I've been to the Sea World out in CA. And the one that was in OH. And definitely the one in Orlando. I think I've been to MarineLand out side of Toronto as well. I know I have been to a couple of 'drive through' safari's in Ontario. They are probably long closed now.

MarineLand is in Niagara Falls..Ok that could be considered outside of Toronto. African Lion Safari is the only drive through that I know of - about 20 minutes from me & still open.

Speaking of smokes.....and John this applies less to you, because you can buy them legally whenever......does anyone smoke Cuban cigars?

Whenever I went to Canada with my dad, he would stop and buy one or two to smoke while we were there. Thinking about having one in Nassau, just for him.
DH does...I'll bet he'd smoke one with you! He bought some when we were in St Maarten a few years ago. :thumbsup2

If it turns out that a steamer isn't allowed, a good trick is to hang up your clothes in the part of the bathroom that has the shower and turn on the hot water to let it build up steam. This works especially well in a DCL room since there are two separate sections to the bathroom.

So that's the end of July/beginning of August for you, right?

Niagra Falls isn't that far from Toronto. And African Lion Safari is still open!!! WOWSER! I think I will need to plan a road trip.....

How about differant last names.
My old passport had one name and I signed a different last name.
We took 4 trips on that passport before we discovered this.
The people at the passport office couldn't believe that got through.
Or that I went on 4 trips using it.
My FB page has both names on there.
Maiden name and married name.
Just in case someone from my childhood wants to find me.
We moved a lot.

I feel your pain! When I was with my ex, I had the same circle of friends. We hung out every weekend and went dancing and just had fun all the time. Then I kind of blind-sided the whole lot of them when I left my now ex. No one saw it coming...I was keeping a lot of secrets at the time...:rotfl: I reunited with Matthew (high school sweetheart...complicated relationship) before my divorce was final and they all swore we'd still be friends for life. Well, we moved to Indy and have been here since 2001. The only folks that I have socialized with over the years has been co-workers and people I go to school with. No true friends...except DH of course! I'm thankful everyday for marrying my best friend...but it would be nice to have friends to hang out with too.

You guys are my social life. I've been lucky enough to meet a few of you already and I can truthfully say that you guys rock! This cruise is giving me the opportunity to meet more lifelong friends and i'm thankful each and every day!

After all..who knew that my BFF was that crazy gal who we all watched and waited while she was having little Evan?! You guys would be frightened with the similarities between us that we've uncovered thus far...:rotfl:

Thanks for being my invisible friends! :grouphug:
