So bank robbery chase....
I was 18ish and just finished using the walk up ATM at my local bank located in a small strip shopping center. I went back to my car, locked the doors and was listening to the radio and putting my stuff away in my purse when this blonde haired man walks in front of my car at an unusually fast pace, with his hand stuck inside his inner leather jacket pocket. He walked about 10 cars down and I almost said forget it, but it just was too weird. I saw his car back out of the parking spot and his license plate was bent over in half. Now this peaked my interest so I backed out and followed him.
I know, but I was really young and stupid.
Anyways, he was flying down the highway and I was keeping pace until I noticed I was doing 130. I decided to slow a bit but was still going really fast when I saw him take the exit for the interstate. When I caught up, he was pulled over on the side of the exit on the shoulder. I kept my head straight, but eyed the make and model of the car. I pulled over on the interstate, but he never went past. On my way home I spotted the police helicopter and when I got home I called the grocery store to ask if they were robbed? They said no, so I called the bank next door. Finally I got through to the FBI and since I lived right down the street, agreed to ID the person I followed. It was nuts! I was rushed in like in the movies with a coat over my head to protect my identity, explained everything that happened. I saw the surviellance video too. The FBI took me out the back of the bank and into an unmarked car and drove the route I took less than an hour ago. It was decided that when he pulled over on the shoulder he crossed the grass and went the opposite way (tire tracks). The guy threatened the teller saying he had a gun and would come back to hurt her and her family.
This is a true story.
