I found it... it was for the passport, not the birth certificate...

Minor Passport (17 & Under)

*

Each minor child applying for a passport shall appear in person.
*

To submit an application for a child under age 16 both parents or the child's legal guardian(s) must appear and present all of the following:
o Evidence of the child's U.S. citizenship
o Evidence of the child's relationship to parents/guardian(s)
+ Birth Certificate
+ Court Order
+ Guardian Papers
o Parental identification
*

IF ONLY ONE PARENT APPEARS YOU MUST ALSO SUBMIT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
o Second parent's notarized written statement consenting to passport issuance for the child,
o Primary evidence of sole authority to apply, OR
o A written statement (made under penalty of perjury) explaining the second parent's unavailability.
1. Evidence you have sole legal custody of the child (unless child's travel is restricted by the order).
2. Written consent from the other parent for the issuance of the passport.
3. A written statement why non-applying parent's consent cannot be obtained.
4. The child's certified birth certificate, report of birth abroad, or certificate of birth abroad listing ONLY the applying parent.
5. Adoption Decree listing ONLY the applying parent.
6. Court order specifically permitting applying parent's or guardian's travel with the child.
7. Judicial declaration of incompetence of non-applying parent.
8. Death certificate of non-applying parent.

Sooooo..... I guess I will have to synchronize my watch with my ex.

Good morning computernut friends! (See post #2308 here for an explanation of that if you missed it.)

We closed on a refinance this morning. I have writer's cramp from signing all of those papers!

We are thinking of refinancing in the summer.

 It is good, which is probably a good thing for DH. He does not have to spend another day with me in the car. We have some of our best conversations in the car, not much to do but talk to each other. But, the discussion got a little deep yesterday and even with the psychology class school boy is taking, he wasn't quite prepared.

Uh oh, heavy conversations are :scared:.

ARRR! I filled out my application online, and then it pops up to the home page again. I guess I'll hand write them all.

Operator error?;)

I was just going to say both parents must be present to apply for the kids passports.:flower3:

Another reason I'm not getting a passport is I'm not sending my one and only birth certificate off in the mail. You see, I was born in the Panama Canal Zone (military brat at the time). I remember hearing stories about how difficult it was to get my birth certificate or maybe the original was lost and they needed a duplicate and that one was hard to get. I don't remember exactly. Anyway, I've guarded this thing my entire adult life. I did a search recently to see about getting a duplicate and it seems easy enough. I'll apply for the passport once I have the duplicate birth certificate in hand.

My DH couldn't have a deep conversation if his life depended on it. :sad2:

But you guys already know that.
:rolleyes1

I wondered how hard it would be. My brother was born in Germany, also military. Mine was fairly simple to obain, though.

ASKTRACY....

Any idea how long it'll take to get confirmation on the change so I can pay the balance on the room?

How come the top 6 blabber-mouths on this thread are all men? And they say women talk too much? Obviously, they've never met up with these guys.

No, I don't. I do not normally handle the Swan and Dolphin reservations, just for you guys so I have to submit changes to another person in our company and then she gets in contact with the hotel. I'll follow up with her.
