Thanks everyone, but I was just doing my job. I'm just sorry that we couldn't get the room back, but it will all work out.

I am a big advocate for getting insurance for cruising. On our first cruise ever, we accidentally got insurance (we booked through AAA and it was automatically added). I was so glad though that we had it when my dad came out of remission and started heading downhill just before we left for the cruise. His doctor said that I would be ok to go, there was a long ways to go in the progression of the leukemia. Well, long story short, I got a call in St. Thomas to get home as fast as possible as dad would not be around for long. Unfortunately, I didn't make it on time.

The insurance covered everything from getting off the ship, flying home, meals, transfers and missed days on the sailing too. I have skipped getting insurance a couple times, but both were based on the price and length of the cruise.

I'm like a leaf blowing in the wind! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So I tell Paul for Valentines day, we are going to see "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and he says, "I don't care, go see whatever you want." Someone please pass me a club so I can beat him. ;)

I would if I had one! :rotfl2:

Someone, I think it was Don, was asking about personal training sessions on the cruise. I am currently in the my cruise section of the DCL website and it looks like they are available for a mere $75 an hour. And you can schedule them in advance in the book spa/fitness section when logged into your cruise if you would like.

Where can I find out what the standard DCL trip insurance covers?

There is information in the cruise booklet we got about a month ago. The one with all the excrusion information.

I have decided to get insurance with Travelex. It's $58 for the 3 of us (for $1500 of trip cost) and it covers $100,000 of medical evacuation. This is my biggest concern. I don't think it covers illness of an immediate family member though.

OK, so what's everyone doing about trip insurance? We never get trip insurance, so I really have no clue. The only thing I'm worried about is something medical on board. I've been on insuremytrip.com but I'm still confused as to what type of coverage we need. :confused3

What are you guys doing?

I have always gotten the trip insurance. It is like medical insurance to me. You never know when you may need it. A lot of people don't buy it. They say it just isn't worth the cost to them. For me if I need airlifted off the ship I don't have $25,000.00 to pay for that. For me it is just peace of mind. I got the insurance from Disney. This is what I got from Travel Guard I have used them in the past.I based this on a trip costing $2,400 a person. This is pretty common coverage. I hope this helps.

I broke down and booked the Palo brunch juuuuuuuuust in case the crew is unable to schedule a group brunch. Unfortunately the only time slot left was 12 noon. Better than nothing though. Didn't book any shore excursions. Gonna stay onboard in Nassau and just relax on Castaway Cay. Didn't book any spa either as I don't want to miss any fun with ya'll. I think a pedicure might be in order before heading down to Orlando.

I was pretty livid earlier when I found out. Not at Tracy, of course. When i'm that angry, I cry. My sister-born-of-another-mother-and-father (you may know her as Jen :) ) helped talk me down from the ledge.

Never done it.:confused3

So today was an eventful day. I posted what I thought was my final payment...only to discover that we didn't even have our reservation! :scared1:

Well, we had a reservation but DCL kinda screwed things up. A few months ago, we did some reservation shuffling that Tracy was an angel to help us with. DCL was supposed to take our original deposit and transfer it over. Yeah...well...they didn't do what they were supposed to. :sad2:

Thankfully, Tracy's the most awesomest agent that i've ever dealt with (well, save for myself of course) and she was swift and went to my defense with DCL. They realized their screw up and re-booked everything immediately but we lost the cabin that we thought we had. :guilty:

We're no longer on deck 7. At least for now anyway...

We are currently on deck 5, but we're hoping that we'll find our way back up to deck 7 again...DCL claims to be working on it, but no guarantees. We're in the same category as before...so no worries there.

Tracy's a saint. She went to bat for us and is beating down DCL on my behalf. :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: She's fiesty...

All that matters is that we're on the cruise and we have a place to sleep. Heck...who's gonna be sleeping anyway???

Aww...good luck Brandi! Keep faith, I bet you make your way back to deck 7

I have the Disney insurance.

The only time I buy travel insurance is when I go on a cruise or travel outside the US. The most important thing to me and the sole reason I purchase travel insurance while cruising is for the Emergency Medical Evacuation and Medical coverage. It's one thing to lose a couple thousand dollars on a cruise and another thing to have to cough up $50,000 to be air lifted from the middle of the ocean to the nearest hospital. I could never afford that. In addition, if you need emergency surgery, your regular insurer may not cover it if it is performed outside the US. When I am at WDW I know there is a hospital near by and that my insurance company will cover me no problem. But this is not the case when traveling by cruise ship. I would never want to have to worry that if something happened to me or a member of my family, if I could afford to get them to a medical facility and/or get them medical care.

Just my 2 cents.
