I have to say I am not a bad cook, I just don't like to.
To me it's a chore.
However my cooking beats MD's and pizza anyday hands down.

DD has been known to ask "Mom, you aren't going to try to cook are you?"
Love that line. That's something I would get. years ago from my DD.
I had no one to teach me.
I picked up on things from other people in the last ten years.
I do my ribs in a pressure cooker than put them on a tray and use rib sauce on them. Then cook in the oven for 15 minutes.

Those ribs sound good to me. Sounds like the young uns don't know how good they have it. Back in high school my girlfriend's mom never cooked. Heck, everytime I went over her house there was never any food in her fridge. She always had to fend for herself. One night she ate just lettuce with dressing for dinner because there wasn't anything else. Her mom worked a second job in the evening and was never home. It was sad really.

Hey hey hey....not all men sit back and ask for food.

I am the resident galley master in this house and everyone (including the pups) would go hungry if I weren't.
Lessons I mastered prior to earning this title:
1) Ancient secret of how to ignite the stove.
2) Spreading peanut butter and jelly onto two pieces of bread.
3) Pouring cereal and milk into a bowl.
4) Rinsing a piece of fruit.


But I get the same thing, not in the door two minutes and its: "I'm hungry. What are you making for dinner?"...."Oh, you're making that?" Next time let them starve!!

Thanks....It would just be for one. My DW likes massages. Me...Not so much (no foot rub jokes please ). She enjoys the swedish massages. And since we are celebrating 15 years of marriage on the cruise I thought it would be a nice surprise.

I refuse to cook for my DH. Haven't really cooked for him in YEARS. He doesn't appreciate anything I do in the kitchen and if he's in the kitchen while I'm making something, he's telling me to do this or that, adjusting the cooktop/oven temp and just being a royal PITA. He has a long list of foods he won't eat, too, like onions and garlic. How can you make flavorful dishes without onions and garlic for cryin' out loud?!!!) I, on the other hand, have a very short list. It consists of one thing... Manwich. Yuck. DH is the cook. The only things I do (WAY) better than him..... Alfredo sauce (because I add GARLIC... hellooooo?) and biscuits. So, he works a 10-12 hour day and comes home to.... NOTHING!

The ribs sound great. I have been known to burn KD in the microwave. But I can oven roast spare ribs in a homemade maple bbq sauce. I can handle some basic meals, but tend to not do well with the "easy" things...KD, scrambled eggs.
