i love, love, love step aerobics. it took me a while to catch on, but once i did, i loved it. I hate cardio (treadmill, running etc.), but classes make it much easier, maybe it is the peer pressure to keep going? :confused3 and it is a hell of a workout too.

I love step aerobics too! I hate working out, and actually spend most of my time while I'm there thinking about what bottle of wine I'll open when I get home(drinking all of my WW points), but I love the fact that it is such a great workout. I think it helps that you are busy trying to keep up while not falling on your face- adds variety.

Well, I was right about the trauma. Practically nothing from last year fits. Tears were had. I had lost almost 90lbs 6 years ago. Then I gained back 50lbs. And I lost the 50lbs when I was sick. Well, it is all back again. I know I can't lose it all before the cruise (wouldn't that be nice if I could) but I guess it's back to being super point conscious. I guess I need to go back to WW. That's how I lost the 90lbs. Its just so frustrating and I am such a bad eater. I have texture issues when I eat. The texture of most fruits and veggies just make me gag. I have such a weird gag reflex. I know it is mostly psychological, but at 50 y.o. I think I will just have to live with it at this point. Thank you for letting me vent.

Kim

My co-worker & hubby are the same with textures. DH swears by the carrot/fruit V8 juice...

Flying doesn't bother me at all. Worst experience was flying into Albuquerque about 15-17 years ago. Terrible storm in NM and on approach in a turn the wings went to 12 and 6 o'clock. :scared: For a second I thought we were going to barrel roll. While that was the biggest scare, flying home from Jamaica with swimmers ear was worse.
.

DH always hated flying - his first flight was mid '80's Ontario to BC on Air Canada - there was duct tape over a crack in the window. He opted for the Greyhound bus to get home. Our honeymoon was his next flight...it was much better. He got better with it, and by the time DD had her first flight, he is much more comfortable and can hide any anxiety - DD loves to fly - like me!

I like you already!

I am the 40-something in a moms group with a bunch 20-somethings that look fine and I am the only one that will show up in a swimsuit when we take the kids to the water park or pool. :headache: My attitude is if you don't want to see my fat thighs you can avert your eyes. It is what it is! :)

For anyone who is worried about wearing a bathing suit on the cruise just know that all the ladies will be more worried about how THEY look in theirs than how you look in yours. Let it go and HAVE FUN!

I wear a bikini on occassion. Life is too short.

Morning all! I'm getting ready to take Piper (2) to the doctor for her first round of tests to find out what is wrong with her kidneys. I'm taking a Tootsie Pop for bribery. :thumbsup2

See ya all this afternoon!

Good luck!

Is there a full size hair dryer in the staterooms?
Someone posted that they weren't as good and if you are picky, bring your own.

DD is spending her morning switching from tv to the cruise planning DVD and back again. Until I get to the parts of the housework she is required to help with at least :goodvibes

Thanks Donna! I'll bring my own! I was afraid they were those tiny things you find in hotel rooms.

I hate cardio (treadmill, running etc.), but classes make it much easier, maybe it is the peer pressure to keep going? :confused3 and it is a hell of a workout too. I just can't find any classes that work with my schedule, working FT and having a toddler, doesn't give me many options for the gym except early am or lunchtime and no classes offered then. ugh.

i doubt i will be working out much on the cruise. although with all that food, i really should.  :woohoo:

I feel the same way about classes at the gym. I hate the tread mill. It is just too boring for me to keep going. I feel really stupid when I do Step Aerobics, but I will do it if that is the only class I can get to. I know what you mean about finding it hard to get to the classes while working and being a full time mom.

 Good Luck. Taking kids to the doctor is the worst. I want to invent shots they can give you when you are pregnant so they don't have to the give the baby shots.

I think they are way worse than hotel hair driers. It's this weird giant hose. I am definitely bring my own. I have a mini-Chi hair drier and it is the best thing ever.

how is the mini chi dryer? I need a new dryer and love my chi straightner (i have naturally curly hair and straighten!)---i figure the chi dryer might be great too. do you like it? was it pricey?

Well I am off on my little side trip. :thumbsup2
Not looking forward to it.
Will be back either tomorrow night late, or early Wednesday morning.
This thread might be closed by then.:rotfl2:
I will miss you guys!

I have a full sized Chi Hair Dryer too and it is awesome. I think the full size is about $100 and I got a special on the mini hair dryer and mini straightner. I just looked and there is a set on Ebay for about $70. The mini hair dryer is about as powerful as a regular hair dryer and I love it too.

I figure $100 is nothing compared to what I spend on my hair in a year between cuts and highlights and I have to blow it dry everyday. I am good at justifying purchases.:rotfl:

It's not like a tiny one in a hotel room, it's like a reverse vacuum cleaner. I usually bring my own.

Hey George! Did you pick up any other goodies while shopping yesterday?

Hi Aaron. I didn't shop. :sad2:

I bought. :dance3:

:rotfl:

Actually it was just the stop at Kohl's so I didn't get anything else. DW could find nothing there. We got a late start after visiting with my grandmother and DW came out with her favorite catch phrase. "I'm getting weak in the knee's." So it was home to fix dinner. :)

Good descripition. I couldn't come up with anything other than "big hose".:rotfl:
