Hello Everyone: We have put up the first ever item to be auctioned off for our Power of 10 fundraiser. Disney Legend Charlie Ridgway has generously autographed and donated a copy of his book "Spinning Disney's World" for our effort. The auction is live using eBay's non-profit site "MissionFish." 100% of the proceeds of the sale of this item will go to Give Kids The World.

Please go check it out!

Wow! The book sold for full price in minutes! :thumbsup2 I'm shocked. I've never sold anything on eBay before. We'll definitely have more auction items coming up.

I couldn't resist.;) I was going to buy the book from Amazon anyway. This just allowed me to get the book and give money to GKTW. Win-Win :cool1:

Thank you so much Kyle! I was very excited to see that it sold so quickly.

You caught me by surprise though. I was thinking I had 10 days to go get the mailing stuff. I'm asking my wife to bring some home from work today. Gotta get that positive feedback! :thumbsup2

Dave, just a suggestion... it looks like you had the "buy it now" turned on. If you turned that off, we could bid against each other, and drive the price way, way up!

Yeah, that's a good suggestion Amy. This was a learning experience for me. Like I said, I've never sold anything on eBay before. It was still exciting to see how quickly Charlie's book sold, and I'm very, very glad that Kyle bought it. Thanks again Kyle! :thumbsup2

We have a lot of stuff coming up to be auctioned, and it's good to get a little more experienced with it. I've been asking all of my past interviews if they'd be willing to donate items for auction. So we should have a lot of fun stuff coming up. I'm looking forward to it - so keep your eyes peeled.

I think the auctions are such a great idea! With your awesome contacts and the cool things you can get, this should do very well for GKTW.

:yay: That's the way to get things rolling !!!! Awesome.

Take your time mailing it...no hurries. You'll get the positive feedback.

On another note I agree with Amy. Remove the buy it now option on future auctions and you will get some nice bids out of the items:thumbsup2

The second - ever Power of 10 fundraising auction will go up later today. Keep your eyes peeled. It should be fun.

I received the book last night and posted feedback this morning. Thanks Dave!

Any chance some of the items could be raffled instead of auctioned? I know there are many folks out there who would love to donate, but are unable to match the prices that some of these items will fetch. If we could buy raffle tickets for some of the items, each of us will only be spending $10, but GKTW will still get the full amount that the item may have auctioned for. Does that make sense? I'm just trying to find a way for the more averagely-incomed among us to participate. :thumbsup2

Good luck with the auctions, though. I'm sure this will be a huge money-maker for GKTW & Powerof10.
