Hi there, my DH and I are looking at a possible trip to Paris this fall for our 5th anniversary. This will be our first European trip. We are really looking forward to everything Paris has to offer, but all of sudden it hit me, that there's a Disneyland Paris. Now we're super stoked to make our trip happen. We are planning to stay at a hotel near the Eiffel tower. I read that it's a 35 minute trip to DLP. Question is what is the best/cheapest option to get to DLP from that area? Or should we consider staying at a DLP resort? TIA :flower3:

Depending on where your hotel is exactly it would be more like a 50-60 minute trip but that doesn't change the transport ;)

If you are planning on going just for the day I'd stay in Paris itself - You reach DLP by the RER A which you can catch in 5 locations in Paris - Charles de gaulle Etoile/Auber/Chatelet Les Halles/Gare de Lyon/Nation.

From anyone of these stations you pay 7.50€ pp over the age of 10 for a one way ticket.

Trains start very early (5.00am) and finish late (0.30 am) and there is one every 10-15 minutes .

Hi Clueless! We too will be staying near the Eiffel Tower this summer, and plan to take Metro + RER to DLP for a day or two; so I've researched this. I agree with Carrie_Cat that it's more like 50-60 minutes, depending on connections and how far you are from the metro.

In our case, we'll be close to the Ecole Militaire station on metro line 8. I plan to take Metro 8 to the Opera station. There's an underground connection "correspondence" between Opéra and Auber - you don't need to leave the ticketed area. At Auber, you pick up RER line A in the direction of Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy. This stops right in front of Disney.

When taking a combination of Metro and RER, don't buy separate tickets. At your point of entrance to the Metro, just buy a ticket valid for zones 1-5 (7.50€ per adult, as Carrie says). When you transfer at Opera, you don't even need to re-swipe the ticket.

You can always research directions and schedules at http://ratp.fr/

You do Bob, When you leave the metro and follow the signs underground to RER A you will come to a new seat of turnstiles where you have to re enter your ticket. You will also need your ticket to get out of the RER when you arrive at MLV-Chessy :)

If you have enough time and your kids are going with you, then I think it's worth doing a split stay--several nights in Paris and then at least two or three out at DLP. If you only plan to go for a day, then you can make the trek, but as others have said, it takes a while. You cannot look at miles, you have to take into consideration all the stops the train makes and if you have a transfer etc.

Don't forget to get you Eiffel Tower tickets online before you go! You'll have to get up in the middle of the night to do it, but totally worth it!

Happy Planning! Paris is a great choice for your first Europe visit IMO.
