Just got back from our first stay at a Disney DVC resort. We bought BLT and used developer points to stay at SSR. After reading the posts and reviews, I was a little nervous about our SSR stay, but I LOVED IT! I loved the rooms. They were clean and the decor was nice. The space was larger than I expected (we stayed in a studio), and the kitchenette was great. The view from our balcony was great. The pool was a lot of fun and the craft activities were nice too. We loved watching the ducks and the swan swim while we sat in the grass next to the lakes.

We didn't go to the parks since we burnt ourselves out last year with annual passes. Matter of fact, I'm looking forward to using the non-park amenities for a couple of years.

I was a little hesitant about no daily cleaning service, but after thinking about it, it makes total sense. As a member, it helps keep costs down and its more green.

We drove over the BWV and walked around a bit. We walked past SAB and BCV as well. They also look great. I can't wait to take my son swimming at SAB, it looks like a blast.

My only complaint was that there were cough drops under the bed that my son found (yuck). I wish the maid would have gotten them. Oh, and we got the pizza flyer in our door! I laughed about it since I had read about it on this discuss board.

I'm really excited about our membership! I'm also super excited to stay at BLT in a MK view and see the fireworks from the balcony! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Glad to hear you had a great time, stayin' at SSR a li'l over a year ago played into my decision to buy into DVC.

Glad to hear that you had a nice stay. We too, bought recently and used our DP at Saratoga and were nervous about it having never stayed there. But, we enjoyed it. It was our first time at a DVC resort and really enjoyed the space which was a big reason we bought in too. Having a family of 5 we were limited on where we could stay together and really appreciated have the extra bedroom for the kids. We had a 2 bedroom! We are reserved for November at Kidani and can't wait. We are looking to going to all the resorts in the future.

Glad to hear the report on SSR, we're headed home in just a few weeks now!!!

Sounds like you had a great time!! I"m glad to hear you liked SSR. We'll be doing the same thing, using DP to stay at SSR!!! We are hoping to get BLT MK view in december!!!:cool1:

So glad you had fun and liked SSR. We will be there in 20 days any tips for us?

So glad you had a good stay. And really, do you want the hassle of someone coming into your room every morning or afternoon, not knowing exactly what time and trying to not be there. We prefer the 4 day arrangement and could in fact do without any. We don't make much of a mess and prefer to keep our own room. It is just a matter of staying ahead of it. JMHO.

I would look at the resort map and pick where you want to stay based on your ideals. For us, I asked to be near the main pool. They did get us near the main pool and it was great. I wouldn't have wanted to stay in the area closest to DTD because it would have been too far away from everything we wanted to do. But, if that is what you want to do most of the time, then it would make sense to stay there. You don't realize how big and spread out this resort is until you get there.

I also realized that we would have saved money using the disney dining plan, so you also might want to look at that and see if it is for you.

Have fun on your trip!!! We are going back in March for 2 days. Since we live in Fl, we are using our points to do 1 week long vacation and 2-3 weekend get aways! :)

Congrats on your decision to buy into DVC. SSR is fabulous isn't it?

DH and I don't do the parks much at all. We travel to the resort and sleep late, laze by the pool, visit other resorts to see how things are going elsewhere. It's really the atmosphere that soothes me at WDW. I get the feeling as soon as I see that welcome sign at whatever resort we are visiting. And it's always hard to leave.

What a nice thing to hear! We are going to SSR in 137 days and I can't wait!

Did you take any pics?

I wonder how the maids decided when the rooms are clean enough. We found dirty Q tips under the bed  when I went to look for my shoe it grossed me out
