First DVC Trip July 17-20! Saratoga Springs

im so excited my friend and i from westchester county ny just joined the DVC in May and we are doing our first trip July 17-20. im afraid the heat will be brutal but its a special occassion. Were staying at Saratoga Springs since its the home resort for both of us.

I bought the 10 day park hopper that doesnt expire, i think that actually is a better deal than the annual pass as this lasts forever and i dont know how many times ill go exactly in a year.

trying to decide where to eat, i hear great things about california grill and ive never been so i think thats where im leaning. im tempted to try the restaurant at saratoga as well.

a question for those reading this..is the dining plan for DVC members different than it is from regular resort guests?

im pretty sure im gonna try to the spa as well, its been a while since ive gotten a good massage and the member discount rocks for that!

You'll love SSR.....the pool area is great...and the slide is fun. The 10 day no expiration is a good idea.....because you'll just want to hang at your "home".
DDP is the same for DVC...enjoy the spa

Congrats on your 1st SSR stay! We loved it on our 1st stay there in May this year (stayed in Grandstand, best bus service and best/largest quiet pool).

DDP is no different for DVC members . . . except that you call Member Services to arrange it no less than 48 hours before check-in (and you pay for it upon check-in).

My recommendations for dining in the parks (best): Tusker House (AK), Tokyo Dining & Chefs du France (Epcot), Liberty Grill dinner with characters (MK), Mama Melrose (DS).

My recommendations for dining in the hotels (best): O'Hana (PR), Boma (AKL), Turf Club (SSR - just sit outdoors as the outdoor deck is so peaceful compared to the inside).

Turf Club served me the best lamb I've ever had - and I'm fussy about how lamb is prepared! My partner and I loved the food there.

Have fun at SSR! We LOVED our first trip and can't wait to go back!

The Turf Club is AWESOME and I agree with Disney Villain - sitting outside is great! DW and I do not really like California Grill but the view of the MK Fireworks from the top of the Contemporary is awesome. The only way to get there is through eating at California Grill. A few years ago we made a reservation, had an appetizer only and then went outside for the show - well worth it!

More votes for both Turf Club and California Grill. Both are excellent.

Don't miss going to the spa at SSR, it is a big reason we enjoy staying there!
