My sister and I are staying at the Grand Californian for our first DVC trip next week! We are avid Disneyland goers but what are some things at the Grand/DVC specific we can do make the trip extra special?! Celebrating first DVC trip and my sister's birthday :)

Congrats all the way around!
I might celebrate that "1st" with a DVC-logo item purchased at the Grand? They usually have a selection of items from pins (not on display; you must ask at the counter), to coffee mugs, clothing, and purses/totes.

Also ... if you stop by the sales center (near the gym) -- they might have a gift bag for you?

Welcome home!

Yes! The gift shop by the lobby has DVC pins for purchase by the cash register. Just ask for them. Also, the DVC center (located just pass the gym as you walk to the DVC wing from the lobby) has drawstring bags filled with little goodies, just stop by. 😄

Some of our favorites (not DVC specific) include hanging by the fireplace and brunch at Storytellers! 😋😋 If you love the princesses, there’s also the Princess Breakfast at Napa Rose. The gift from the DVC center is the best one you’ll get at any resort. 🤩 No more lanyards!! 🙅🏼‍♀️😆 And they do sell DVC merch at Acorn Gifts ( Spirit jerseys, shirts, hats, tervis mugs, etc.) Enjoy! We should have beautiful weather next week!

Have a wonderful first trip!! We love dining at Napa Rose, just taking in the splendor of the lobby and going to the park just for grizzly falls in our bathing suits and cover ups and being able to quickly go back to the room to change out of our wet clothes.

Storytellers was the highlight of the trip. Truthfully, we were disappointed. We are so spoiled with the quality of the florida properties that we were underwhelmed with the whole trip

Of you are doing any cooking, don't forget there is a grill, you just have to ask for utensils at the front desk. This came in handy when we were staying in a Studio and wanted to cook our own pizza from the store.

Enjoy! I grew up in California, but left there 40 years ago. Disneyland always has a place in my heart. The last time I was there was in 2001, and they were closed on our last day due to 9/11, we were going to have Breakfast at Knott's, then go to Disneyland.. Of course our flight was cancelled, and nothing was open, so we drove back to Texas in our rental car.

Do they do gifts even if you bought resale?!

There is a nice empty terrace with a great view on 6th floor. Perhaps arrrange a surprise gift and DIY photo shoot there. I’m relatively new to DVC and stayed there recently. Fun, fun!!

+2 on the suggestion to stop by the DVC sales office. I stopped by in Dec and they had a draw string bag with a DVC box ( 5.125 in X 7.125 in X 2.125 in) and pins and lanyards and stickers inside the bag.

Maybe they will have info on the new DVC tower they are building by then. :)
