Woohoo, doing our first dvc stay tomorrow, flying out tonight on a red eye. Staying at OKW for the next 6 days. Any last minute advice?

OOOHHH! Envious! We were there for 7 nights in June and always love it. Eat at Olivia's, take the ferry to DTD and don't forget the last boat back to OKW is at 11:30 pm. Enjoy the pool and a tasty adult beverage from the Gurgling Suitcase.

Have fun!!

Since this is your first DVC trip - welcome to the club and welcome home! Everyone has a different way of enjoying their vacation time, my only advice is to take some time to relax, enjoy the resort, and take it easy. We always build in a day or two just to kick back at the pool, play mini-golf, explore the resort or other resorts and have always found this to be most enjoyable, and has made our vacations that much better. It is tempting to be on the go all the time, thinking you will miss something. But, now that you are members, you will be making the trip regularly,so enjoy and relax! We love OKW, it has been a few visits since we stayed there, but the resort certainly lends itself to relaxing!

As stated above, take the nice boat ride over to Downtown Disney, another nice relaxing moment, we like to go as the sun is setting, nice views of Saratoga Springs, and feels good to be on the water!

If your room is in a building near the hospitality house (main building, check in, Olivia's, shop, main pool, etc)...you can get on the bus at the hospitality house and go right out to the parks (it's the last OKW stop before going out to parks)....then when you come back from the parks, you can get off the 1st stop (at Penninsular Rd...next to hospitality house) as it's close, so no stopping at all the many OKW stops when coming back either. Have a nice trip!

You're going to love OKW! Relax and enjoy the larger rooms....and WELCOME HOME!!

Enjoy your first DVC trip! We begin a DVC trip tomorrow as well! I strongly recomment going to the Frozen Sing along, we think it's the best attraction these days!

Relax and enjoy your vacation. There is no reason to stress over missing a ride. You will be retuning real soon.::yes::

I'm so envious of you that it is tomorrow. We are doing our first visit as DVC members next June at the GFV. Have fun while you are there. :goodvibes

That was going to be my suggestion too. Next week I'll be a member for 15 years and have no regrets.

Thanks for all the tips guys. We will try to slow down. We aren't big ride people since we have done most of the rides at disneyland. We will mostly focus on the rides that are different and the spend a lot of time in restaurants (Victoria & alberts yumm) and check out the top of the world lounge.

Certainly not advice but just a suggestion.

Maybe try and take a couple afternoons or maybe a dinner reservation or pool hop to explore some of the other DVC properties. We did this the first several trips and it gives you some first hand idea of the DVC scenario for the different resorts. This may give you some ideas as to which one you want to try next.

It the end most members wind up adding on or adjusting their points to fit the resorts they love the most and want to make sure they can get.

Anyway, the exploring is most of the fun anyway so enjoy and have a great trip!
