Hi All,
I'm renting points and staying DVC for the first time. I'm staying in a studio at BWV. Can you tell me what comes in the room? Dishes? Coffee? Dishwashing liquid? I've heard that there is no maid service but that towels and garbage gets done on day 4. Do we get more of the above items too?

Thanks!

We did our first stay exactly like this - rented DVC points for a studio at BWV - last fall and have already scheduled again for this fall. It was amazing, and we'll always rent here if possible. There are dishes, to-go coffee cups, small amounts of dishwashing liquid, dish towels, utensils. If you stay a week, there is housekeeping on the 4th day, and they do trash daily, or at least they did when we stayed. You can call anytime for more supplies like coffee, etc. and they'll bring it right up. You'll have the best time!

The studio will have a Keurig duo. There will be K cups for the single cup section. There will be bags of ground coffee, enough for an 8-cup pot of coffee. Coffee supplies like sugar and powdered creamer are provided, too.

@Karalee402 nailed it. If you lookup YouTube videos of BWV deluxe studio tours, most of them will show you exactly what is included in a studio - there is a uniform supply list.

Don't be afraid to ask for something you need. We are usually asking for extra coffee pods, towels, and toiletries by day 2 or 3. If there's a request they can accommodate, they usually will.

We've never once really noticed the whole mousekeeping difference between the cash and DVC side. Like, I know it exists, but I've never noticed that it exists. You do tend to treat the place more like home than a hotel room. These are the only "hotel rooms" I've ever vacuumed lol!

Oh, and since you're staying on the DVC side, you'll have access to the DVC laundry room with washers and dryers. That's always a big plus!

Understand that you'll never pay for a room on the cash side again. Especially if you stick to renting your points from users here, where the riff raff and games are minimal at most.

Have the most wonderful trip!

Just be aware that the coffee cups are kind of cardboard with a styrofoam coating. They don't really microwave well, and may develop a scorching smell (ask me how I know). So I always bring a cheap real coffee mug and sometimes leave it there. I've heard that you can call housekeeping and ask for real mugs, but I've never tried.

I haven't stayed in a studio in awhile. Don't they have paper plates and plastic silverware, rather than real dishes and flatware?

You can ask housekeeping if you run out of things like paper towels, toilet paper, tissues. I think you can ask for more coffee, but I haven't. I think you can ask for more towels.

After the Vegas shooting, Disney started doing daily room checks. They tried to spin this as a DVC benefit by having the garbage picked up every day.

The cleaning schedule, from the DVC website:
For stays of 7 or less consecutive nights in the same Vacation Home, the Disney Vacation Club Resort will provide a “Trash & Towel” service on the fourth consecutive day of the stay.

For stays of 8 or more nights, Full Cleaning Service is provided on day 4 and Trash & Towel Service is provided on day 8 (after which the cycle begins again on day 12). This service schedule applies regardless of whether you are using a Member-discounted cash reservation, Vacation Points, or a combination of both.

Please note that Disney Resort hotel Cast Members visually inspect every room for maintenance, safety, security and other purposes daily. As part of this daily inspection, Cast Members also will remove trash bags as an enhanced service for Disney Vacation Club Members. (Members have historically received limited trash removal based on the length of their stay at Disney Vacation Club Resorts.) Cast Members who arrive at an inconvenient time for your room’s inspection will happily arrange an alternate inspection time.

I have asked for more coffee and always got it promptly. I only drink Decaf, so half of what's supplied I won't drink. When I ask for more decaf, they always bring plenty-one time the housekeeper brought enough for my entire family for a month, it seemed.

FYI, you can provide your own towel service, there should be a cart in the hallway where you can drop towel/trash and pick up new towels if needed.

I don't think you are supposed to help yourself to the items on the carts in the hallways. If you do see a housekeeper in the hallway and you need something you can always ask, but really if you want extra stuff for your room, call housekeeping and they will send it to your room. The carts are loaded so the housekeepers doing checkouts and full cleanings and day 4 services can do their work efficiently allowing us all to get our rooms on time or sometimes even a bit early.

Also if you have trash you want to dispose of and not hold it until trash collectors arrive there is a room for trash disposal. You can bring it there.

The utensils are plastic. The cups, bowls and plates are generic white paper. There should be a corkscrew also, plus toaster, microwave, Duo Keuriq Coffee maker and undercounter fridge. Also a small bar style sink. They provide both pods for the keurigs in addition to the packets for a pot of coffee. Paper towels under the counter with a dish sponge squeegee thing. Dish cloth and dish detergent by the sink. Icebucket which can be filled in the room with the ice machine.

@Alicatt enjoy your stay!

Thank you everone! I've got a pool/garden view. Any recommendations on room requests?

There are some websites (not sure if I'm allowed to link them here) that will show you exact room views from different rooms. Last fall, we only requested a high floor, and we got a really nice view of the canal/walk way to HS and the Swan/Dolphin. This time, we're requesting a high floor (that's definitely still the priority because there are so many good views) and a view of the Village Green area. I don't expect to get that since there are so few rooms, but it's worth a shot.
I think consider how quiet you want things to be (avoid the Luna pool if so) and what your number one priority is (proximity to elevators, etc.) and go from there.
