My boyfriend and I booked our trip to DLR 6 months ago and since then I learnt that the ½ Marathon starts on the first day that we plan to make our first visit to DL and DCA for 5 days (31st - 4th).. is the park really full during the marathon? I'm really worried now that it's getting close and maybe I wont get what I expected?

Hi there! I'm not too sure about the crowd patterns associated with the marathon. I'd imagine that it will increase crowds, and you'll also have increased crowds due to the Labor Day holiday that weekend, BUT, I wanted to let you know that 5 days is a GREAT amount of time to spend in the parks and that you should be able to do everything that you want with that amount of time. Things like special events or holidays can really put a damper on things for people that were only planning to visit the parks for a day or two, but luckily you have five full days planned so you have plenty of time to explore the parks :) Use Fastpasses, try to wake up early and stay late, and you should have a great, great trip!!! :) :wizard:

Eeep, I didn't know about the Labour Day weekend thing either :scared1: Thank you for the encouraging words, I feel a lot better about it! I am so excited for our trip and I just hope that we get to see as much as we can. :)

I think you'll be fine. Crowds will increase some because of the race, but the holiday weekend will block out low level APs and the weekdays after the race will likely be very calm because every school is back in session. Just be sure to be aware of what impact the race will have on traffic in the morning.

However, the Tuesday after Labor Day is a common day for attractions to go down for maintenance. Make sure to check the refurb calendar and if there's a certain attraction that is a must do for you that's scheduled to go down on that Tuesday, make sure you fit it in while it's open.

Yeah I did take a close look at the Refurb calendar and things are going down mainly after the 4th, I might have to take another look though. I'm quite devastated that I'm missing out on the haunted mansion.. Oh well though, what can you do I guess. Thanks for all the help, lovely people! :)
