Hi,

This is my first ever holiday to DLP and first ever report. Its gonna be long lol. Sorry if you bore you all.

This is our first day or should i say night. There was me, my mam and grandma. We stayed at the Sequoia Lodge from December 9th- 13th. We had a fantastic holiday and hope to go back next summer for my 21st.

Day 1 Sunday 9th Dec:

Today was the day!!! After counting down for what seemed like forever it was finally here- the day we were on our way to Disneyland Paris for the first time ever!! The flight wasn’t until 4.20pm so we had a bit of time to kill. It didn’t go by too badly though and soon enough we were waiting to board but wow everyone was like animals in there! But that’s due to it being Easyjet and not being able to book seats so everyone rushes over. We managed to get 3 seats together though. I was a bit nervous because it’s the first time I have flown in 11 years and the first time since all the surgery last year so I didn’t know how I was going to manage but the take off was great even though it was delayed for about 20 minutes. But I was fine with the flight and it went over so quick.
We landed at Charles De Gaulle airport at around 7.15pm their time. We went to get the VEA shuttle to our hotel and as we were walking there a guy came over to us and kept asking which hotel we were staying at and was telling us to get his bus and told us the price but something just wasn’t right about him, he seemed a bit dodgy and he asked another family that was standing with us too and they said he wasn’t right either because they had been before and the got the proper VEA shuttle. So we all said no and he didn’t seem too bothered and just walked off to ask others. We got to the proper VEA shuttle and there was quite a lot of people standing waiting to get on and you had to put your own bags in the luggage compartment at the bottom on the bus which wasn’t too easy without a man to help lol. But thankfully a lovely guy helped us and put our luggage on but what I thought was a bit weird was how all the bags were just being put on without even knowing if there was enough space for everyone on the bus. And people were just throwing the bags on anywhere and mine got pushed right over to the other side. We got on the bus but the bus driver didn’t speak any English but we managed and me and mam sat together right at the front but grandma had to sit a little further back. The journey itself was a bit of an experience lol. The driver used his mobile almost the whole time and kept driving between two lanes and was barely even using 1 hand on the wheel. And right from the start there was a bright red ‘stop’ flashing non stop on his dash board which he just ignored.
The first hotel we arrived at was Newport Bay and people got off and got their luggage. The next stop was our hotel- Sequoia Lodge. I managed to find my grandmas case and mine but my mams which had been placed right beside my grandma’s couldn’t be found anywhere. We looked all over for it and non of us could see it and eventually the driver got off the bus and I tried to explain to him as best as I could that my mam’s case wasn’t there and what it looked like. He had brief look and decided it must have been taken off by someone at the Newport Bay hotel and that my mam would have to go back. So he left me and my grandma standing there with our cases and my mam had to get back on the bus. I was really worried because her case had all her medication in and everything. I went into the reception to explain what happened to see if they could find out if the case had been found. The woman was lovely and spoke great English and she rang around to find out but there was nothing. Just as I was walking away my mam showed (about 45 mins after it all happened) and she had her case. We were so relieved but she said how she had to go round every other hotel first and was worried because she was on a bus all on here own with a total stranger who spoke no English and it was pitch black. Anyways it turns out the case was on the bus but all the other cases had buried it!
After that we checked in and asked if there was any Montana rooms available but unfortunately there wasn’t so we had to stay in one of the lodges outside. We headed down and it was so dark, you couldn’t see much and our lodge seemed really far away from the main building which wasn’t so good for my grandma. We found our room and struggled with our cases up the stairs because there was no lift. We reached our room and opened the door and put the lights on but it was still so dark and dim and one light didn’t work and then the lamp went off and later came back on. But it actually done that throughout the whole holiday as did one of the bed lamps too and there was no toilet roll. It was too late to head off to the Village like we had planned so we just unpacked and went back up to the reception to sort a few things out then went to bed. When we unpacked my mam discovered that the inside of her case had been broken and her hairdryer. But after all this we were all looking forward to the day ahead as it was a new day and would be great.

I'm gonna post day 2 soon and the others and some pics. I got carried away taking photos- i think i took over 500!! :scared1: oops, i just realised how long this post is!! Sorry lol.

Ooh, I would have been scared too if I couldn't find my case :scared1: ~ thank goodness you found it but it's not the best way to start a holiday, is it.

Hoping you have a lovely day tomorrow. :wizard:
