Hi everyone. New here. This isn’t our first extended Disney trip but it is our first one over the holidays. We’re pretty good at planning our trips usually when going but this seems like a whole different animal. We’ve always wanted to go during Christmas and after our holiday plans fell through we came across the Ultimate Christmas package and booked it. Since the late start we’re kind of scrambling to get things set up.
So what are the can’t miss things over the holidays and what are the things I should pass up?

Don’t miss candlelight processional. Also, the “snow” on Main Street while eating ice cream Xmas eve is an annual tradition for our family.

This year will be our first year visiting during Christmas week, too! From our plans, I would recommend trying the CP (with dining package for convenience sake) and, if budget allows, a holiday sleigh ride at Ft. Wilderness. It's a great way to 'get away' from the parks and take in the Christmas magic :)

Skip MVMCP, in my opinion it's a huge waste of money and time.

Well we’re already booked for the MVMCP as part of this package. So we’re just going to go with it. But the sleigh ride sounds like an awesome idea though!!! Thanks!

Forgot about that part of the package! Glad it's included - then it becomes an asset instead of an additional expense :)

This package sounds so great! Please report back your satisfaction with the package after your vacation!

Make sure to visit some deluxe resorts (especially WL and GF) to soak up the festive holiday atmosphere. That week there should be special entertainment in the lobbies of those resorts at certain times. You will need to look for a schedule if carolers and the like would be important for you while visiting those resorts. We usually enjoy those resorts at night...either we have dinner there (QS or table service with an ADR) or we go late, after park closing. We loved our sleigh ride in FW...but we have been so often and always stay for at least a week so we didn't resent spending our time doing something so relaxing. I don't think I will ever get over the fact that Osborne Lights are gone. :-( Jungle Cruise is re-themed as Jingle Cruise. That's always a cute one, especially after dark. Don't miss the Frozen show in front of the castle (I think it's usually around 6 at night or something) when Elsa lights up the castle. Find a good spot at least 15 minutes early. There is an extension to Illuminations...with "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and Illuminations starts later than the rest of the year.

This will be my first Christmas at WDW as well. I’m so excited. Don’t forget about the International Festival of the Holidays at Epcot. I’ve heard it’s like a holiday version of Flower and Garden with various food booths setup around the world showcase.

Go see all the story tellers in WS. They’re awesome!
