hello, our cruise (magic) is in less than 2 weeks, we are wait listed for first dining. What are the chances of us getting first dining if we haven't gotten it by now? What are our options when we get on the cruise to change it on the first day?

We have never tried to switch but hear people all the time who talk about doing it.

One time we were moved from the wait list to early about 4 days out from our cruise.

If it still hasn't come through by the time you board, you can go to where they are handling dining changes (it'll be listed in the Navigator you get in the terminal where/when this is) and make the request again.

I'm gonna guess that you'll make it off the waitlist, even before you set sail. If not absolutely go as soon as you get on board to wherever they're managing dining requests.

It is the midst of high Spring Break season, so it may not be doable. But all you can do is ask.

We have been waitlisted a few times and always get switched just several days before the cruise.
If you are not switched, it will tell you in the navigator where to go after boarding to have your dining changed.

We had a party of nine, wait-listed for 9 months for our Fantasy cruise in August. We never got off the wait-list, but when we got on the ship, we went and requested the change and they gave it to us.

Having said that, I now realize that second seating would also have been fine. We were more worried than we needed to be.

Our experience is about 50/50 in getting off the waitlist before the cruise. If we aren't moved to early dining by the time we board, I just accept the second dining. We're fine with both but my DD prefers early.

Is the time the only difference? Is there any activities that late dining would make you miss? We are going in October and originally selected late dining, but it seems like most people have a preference for early and I wanted to make sure it wasn't because we would miss anything!

That's when 80% of the cruises I have gone on were, and we've always had a harder time switching from Early to Late rather than Late to Early.
