No, not me, but for a friend! Her first grandchild is due next week & she wants a digital camera. We went to the local photography store this morning. The salesman showed her a Canon A510 & a Nikon Coolpix. They didn't have a coolpix 4600 which is the less expensive one. Anyone familiar with either one or any other entry level digital camera? Thanks!

I can not help with either of the above cameras but I love Fujifilm cameras. They are just great and have them priced from less expensive to over the top. Even the lowesest end camera from them is great! Good luck with your search!

I have a Nikon Coolpix 3200 digital camera and I love it! I think it has a great zoom and is very user friendly. There are multiple settings including a video one. I have had no problems with this camera and would highly recommend it!

I have an older Nikon Coolpix (2 mp) I love it - it takes beautiful pictures. Very easy to use! Never felt the need to go with more mp either - but I don't enlarge over 5 X 7 anyway.

Thank you for the replies! I will share them with my friend.

We really like our Nikon 4300 & of course, our newer D70. I used the 4300 at a party last night & got some good group shots outside at night.

I have the Nikon Coolpix 5600. I ended up purchasing it on our 14 day Panama Canal Cruise because the humidity killed my 35 mm camera on day 2. I found this camera to be very easy to use and the pictures turned out fabulous (took over 1400 pictures in the remaining 12 days of our cruise). It also comes with a program to upload your pictures to your computer. I'm still trying to figure it all out but so far it has been easy to use. I'd highly recommend a Nikon Coolpix.

I work in the Digital Imaging department at Best Buy.. I recently bought my soon to be Mother In Law a Canon A510 - It really is a great camera for >$200.

Quite fast, never had a blurry shot (unlike the Fuji I wish I hadn't bought my fiancee) and great picture quality!

well, you know how I feel about my cannon s1 is powershot with the zoom and image stabilzer. LOVE IT! it's very easy to use. :) maggie

I love my S1 IS also! I say go for which one feels the best. Everyone has differnt preferences. Take the time to play with them in the store. While I prefer Canon, Nikon is in my top four favorite digicam brands.
