Doesn't sound too packed to me. If you were trying to get a park in there too, it'd be too much, but otherwise I think it's fine!

:earsboy:

Since you are riding the monorail anyway, you might want to consider eating dinner at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort. Great start to a Mickey vacation!

Since you are new to Disney planning, you might want to check out www.allearsnet.com. Great website for first timers!

I think that sounds fine. Hmmm...you'll be arriving on the day I'm leaving. :( If you see an incredibly sad, brown-haired woman schlepping her 2 year old DD, limping Mom, and long-haired 20-something sister through MCO, looking like it's the end of the world...that would be me.

I think that you planned well - not too much for the first day. I agree with one of the above posters that if you were trying to squeeze in a park, it would be too much. Hope you have a great vacation.

that is the EXACT plan we did....arrive orlando, ASMo, DTD, eating same places, swimming...... i loved our first day there....the only thing i would try to squeeze in (before u leave resort) is walk around and see it. we have some funny pictures we took at the resort....OR, you could see it when u get back. we did ride the monorail, but on a break from our MK day! just so you know, going from here to there does take some time. the ride to DTD is appx. 15 minutes and from the resort to MK is appx. 13 minutes. anyway, have a really fun time....your first day sounds perfect...of course, YOUR first day and OUR first day are practically identical!!!:sunny:

here's my trip report (which includes pictures and hurricane Charley!!) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=642054

Welcome to the DIS!

:wave2:

Your plan sounds great! Not too jammed packed for a first day. Have a wonderful trip!

We like to go nuts our first day and be a little more calm the 2nd.

This November, our flight leaves at 7:15a and arrives before 10 :00a.
Take a towncar to the Contemporary and check-in.
Off to Magic Kingdom(probably walk after being cooped up for so long).
Eat counter service at the park for lunch
Meet some characters and ride a few rides.
Watch the parade at 3:00.
Dinner at Crystal palace
Back to the hotel to get our rooms.
Back to the park for Spectro at 9:00
Wishes at 10:00
Back to the room and collapse.

That should get me up at 4:00a and get me to sleep around 11:00p. My girls (DDs 4,1 and DW>30) will probably sleep in the car and on the plane. The little ones will nap in their strollers. I'll probably end up face down in a pile of mashed potatoes at Crystal Palace :p

:rotfl: What a picture that would make, lol.

Can anyone confirm that there is a bus route from DTD to the TTC? If not, then the OP would take a bus from DTD to one of the monorail resorts, and later from MK to the All Stars.

That is correct. The best bet would be to take the bus to the Contemporary and get the monorail from there.

I don't think it sounds like too much. Depending on how everyone is feeling, you might want to be flexible in the order you do things. Your group may want to go swimming and resort exploring right when you get there. Plus you could have lunch at the food court. Then you could go to DTD, eat dinner and dessert there, and ride the monorail as it's getting dark. It's fun to see things all lit up and you may catch some fireworks!
