We went DHS today and it was so crowded for January! There were some groups of kids I think from Brazil, Argentina and Spain. Between all of them it seemed like their were 5 groups of 200 in one park!

Anyone know the story of whats going on?

A Fantasmic night when there are only two this week AND evening Extra Magic Hours

The worst possible combination

DHS had evening EMH and Fantasmic tonight. Easywdw predicted it would be the busiest day at that park in the month of January.

So hopefully that won't mean that you'll find crowds everywhere you go.

We always have to go to WDW in the summer due to the kids being in school. The last time that we went, we endured the crowds from Brazil, Argentina, etc. They were extremely rude and loud. We went to our bus stop and about fainted when we saw hundreds of them lined up waiting for all of the parks' buses. It was our DD's birthday and we ADR's; thanfully, a higher-up CM called a cab and sent us on our way to our ADR. Oh, and the CM said that they would pay for the cab fair! That's some awesome Disney spirit! I only wish that those kids would have had the same respect for everyone else.

We just came back last night from a long weekend at WDW and we were shocked at how crowded it was. I have never seen so many flags in my life. We would try and go the other direction only to come up to more flags. We were at WDW this same time last year and it seemed empty. There just doesn't seem to be a great time to go anymore.

TGM rates this day (1/23) red for DHS. You should've gone to MK or EP. It always pays to check park schedules and hours prior to leaving.

We experienced those same groups on our Jan trip back in 2008....they were very loud and rude at times. I ran the other direction when I saw those flags approaching us. Our Jan trip was much more crowded than I would have expected too.

We were there Jan 2009 and were amazed at the number and size of the Brazilian tour groups. A CM said that Jan is the time of their summer school break and that they escape the very hot weather in Brazil. He also said that because Brazil is booming, Disney is very affordable for them. They did seem like high spirited kids to say the least! Could someone tell me what TGM is?

TGM=Tour Guide Mike. Look for his ad at the top of this page.

Sorry you had to experience that as well.

Great-that means that our summer break is their winter break.:scared1: UGH!!!

For fun i was looking at my lines app and was shocked at the wait times for a day listed as a 1.

EMH = crowds, F! = super crowds, together = insane crowds!

These are the threads I would love to keep for when the ever popular should I go to EMH or not questions come up and people respond with yeah, go its great, you get to do tons of stuff (like stand in line longer!) and the parks are dead, etc.

DHS was very busy last night as we were walking in for EMH but around 9:45 the park was fabulous and the crowds were super light...even with the 1 tour group we saw. Toy Story Mania said an 85 min wait, but the CM said it was actually 40 and they changed it soon afterwards. Like the PP said, F! and EMH affected the crowds making it a red park.

Yesterday MK was listed in the 1's and Fantasyland was a mad house. Of course, it just felt that way because we went during peak hours for families with young kids and toddlers...in reality it wasn't bad at all. 15 minute wait for ITS A SMALL WORLD and the highest wait for Peter Pan that we saw was 30 minutes. That same time in Liberty Square it was a ghost town. I think it's all relative to what time you go, what's going on in what park and which area of the park you are in.

Nothing at all like last August when we were here. The crowd levels were 3-7 that time. I'll try to post pictures of crowds from yesterday when I get a chance.

It looks like the OP posted their message at 1:05 AM this morning. I would say they are probably referring to yesterday, 1/23, which was rated a 6.6 on touringplans and a park to avoid.

I was told last week by a cast member at AK that Brazils economy was realy good this year and so many people are traveling to the US and WDW. We just got home yesterday and had to deal with those same Brazilian tour groups last week. :scared1:

I've read about the tour groups coming in July, but not at other times. I was planning to book a trip in June (6/7-6/14). Is that a pretty "safe" time to avoid the tour groups?
