I was hoping for some input for our first day in Disney. We will be arriving at the POR at about 11:30. We have PS's for Chef Mikey's at 6:00. What to do in between? I figure it wouldn't be a good idea to waste the time in one of the parks and waste one of our park hopper days. Since this our first time I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any suggestions would be great! :cool1:

You'll find time flying the first day after you unpack and get organized. The general store at POR isn't too bad to shop, or you could take the boat ride to Downtown Disney, shop and go on to Chef Mickeys.

Next time we go down there, my oldest daughter (6) wants to get a hair wrap, and there is a small kiosk right outside POR's food court.

Swim! And then unpack and go to downtown Disney so everyone can see what type of souveniers they'd like. Don't buy anything because minds will change about a hundred times. My kids always like doing this. You can then go to MK and hop on the monorail to the Contemporary. If you drive, you can drive to DTD and straight to the Contemporary!

We're in a similar situation, arriving at All Star Movies at about noon or so on Saturday. Official check in isn't until 3pm, so our room may or may not be ready. If not, we'll just leave our luggage with the CM, and either do some resort hopping or shopping at DTD. If you don't have a car, you can get to the monorail resorts by taking a bus to MK (Ticket and Transportation Center) or EPCOT, and then hop on a monorail. You can see the Grand FLoridian, Polynesian, and then end up at the Contemporary where Chef Mickey's is. We also have PS for CHef Mickey's for dinner at 6:10pm. Have a great time!!!!

POR is great just to hang out at... you can walk down to POFQ and check it out too. THe afternoon will fly by.

Depending on when you left to get to WDW, you may find a nap or rest a good idea to get you through that 6:00 PS. The last 2 times I've flown to WDW (nonstop flight left 7:30-ish, checked in about 12:30), I was absolutely beat by 5:00. The first time, I had a 7:00 PS at 'Ohana and nearly crawled to the podium at 5:00 to see if they could fit me in early - luckily they did, but I was too tired to fully enjoy the meal. The second time I flew on the same schedule and set aside that afternoon for all of us to relax by the pool and even take a short nap - and my family really benefited from it.
