2 adults & 2 kids (11&8yo) visiting from Australia. We have 5 day PH + extra afternoon for MHP.
We arrive on a Saturday & will get to the park late morning after a very early flight from Calgary.
It's the first visit for the kids so I would like the first day to be about Disney Magic. They really have no idea on how amazing it will be.

So far we have planned:
Pick up buttons Main Street
Special snack from Jolly Holiday Bakery
Grab RSR FP aiming for night return time.
5.20pm ADR for WCT for Pixar Parade
Watch Cars Land lights at sunset.
Fireworks although none seem to be scheduled 9/24?

WWYD for your first day?
Also I made the ADR using the app but I couldn't add any notes about wanting a table to view the parade. What is the best way to go about this?

Best to best to go early for your reservation and ask for a certain seat.

I'd go on an iconic ride first. like Matterhorn, dumbo, etc. (ask kids what ride they think of first when they hear DL. Buttons can be obtained any day of trip. Ask at restaurants & stores if already there.

I'd go on pirates that day.

Will you be staying on site? If so, the buttons may be available at the front desk when you check in. Don't forget to let the kids choose their first ear hat and to get it embroidered. Sunset time for 9/24/16 is supposed to be at 6:45pm (according to Google). So if you don't get seated right away or if there are any delays with your meal, getting to Route 66 in time for the neon lighting might be tight. I'd relax, enjoy the parade and your meal, then see the lighting if things work out or let it go to another day so you don't have to feel rushed. As for requesting specific seating, this cannot be done ahead and CMs cannot guarantee your request. Ask for a parade view table when you check in, but be prepared that you might be seated elsewhere.

Yes staying at GCH. Thank you for the advise, we will aim to get the WCT early & see how we go.
DS8 is desperate to go on Matterhorn so I will add that in. DH's favourite ride is POC & he cannot wait to introduce kids to it.
