My husband and I are finally going on a much-delayed honeymoon by taking our first cruise, on the Disney Dream at the end of February! A couple questions:

1. We're both video game geeks, and so want to check out the Disney Infinity room. Are non-kids allowed to experience it?
2. Is it essential that we book Remy before we get on the ship? We want to make sure we get a spot, but we also want to see what night we're assigned to a particular restaurant - we don't want to skip the night we're supposed to be at Animator's Palate. It's only 3 nights, so we'll miss one.
3. What's the recommend/cost-effective way to get from MCO to Port Canavarel? I crunched the numbers and it seems like one-way car rental is the way to go?
4. Any other general tips for a couple travelling sans kids?

Thanks! Hope to meet some fellow travellers!

1. You can access the kid's clubs during Open House hours. These occur 1 or 2 hours once or twice a day.

2. You can go ahead and set up your Remy reservation. Then call DCL and request a rotation that doesn't put you in Animator's on night 2 (or 1 or 3, whatever night you make the Remy reservation). If you still wind up in Animator's on the night of your Remy reservation, you can go to where the dining changes are handled onboard as soon as you board (location will be noted in the Navigator you get in the terminal) and request to either change your dining rotation or your Remy reservation, whichever is easier.

3. For 2 people, I'd suggest using DCL transfers. You don't have to manage your luggage, and be on the watch out for traffic and "where's the turn off?" questions. How much did you find a car rental for? DCL transfers are $35.00 per person one way.

4. Relax, and realize that you won't be able to do "everything", and make peace with that. Remember, it's a vacation, take some time to sit and watch the sea go by.

Thanks! If we're really in it for the food, are we better off just doing Remy and Palo, and only one night of the rotational dining?

Personally, my opinion is that, if you've never cruised Disney before, you should give the "regular" cruise experience a chance first. Then do the extra cost stuff on a later cruise.

I totally love Palo brunch. Never done Remy (and not likely to as it too pricey for us).

Sure, why not, it is your vacation after all. So do what you want.

I will mention @PrincessShmoo had called for what night to do the up service dining. One observation I have had, the first night on a cruise is always the most rushed and crazy in the dining rooms. Everyone is finding their servers for the first time, etc. This would be a great night for an upservice meal. Much more relaxing and a great kick off. Spend some time in the Meridian Lounge before hand enjoying a few drinks, then have your meal. Sounds less chaotic. Then enjoy the rest of your trip. I wouldn't want to do it on Castaway Cay day, simply because going from Beach wear to Remy isn't my idea of a good time. The other consideration is this is the last night of the cruise, so if you need to pack things into luggage to get it into the hallway, you are bound by the luggage collection time, or else you have to take it off the ship yourself.

I would make your reservation for Remy asap or you won't get a reservation. If I had it to do over again, I'd skip rotational dining one night because the main dining rooms are so loud. If you're traveling without kids, you'll notice this. Even with our girls being 5 and 7 and more manageable it was a very noisy experience at meals. You might enjoy a nice adult experience at least once.
