First cruise day...bus schedule?

So I am staying on site 2 nights before our Disney cruise. Decided to use the Disney transfer. What time does the bus pick you up? Staing at Coronado Springs. How early do we need to check in our luggage and how does that work? Thanks! So excited for my first Disney Cruise

You will get a letter in your room the night before the cruise telling you your specifics for the next day's transportation. Basically, you must have your checked bags ready to by by 8:00 am for pick up (inside your room). It's transported to the ship via truck, and the next time you see it will be at your room onboard later that afternoon.

The pick up window for WDW resorts is anywhere between 10:45-12:30 generally. When we stayed at the Coronado Springs we were told to check in in the lobby area at 12:30. But, the actual time can vary from cruise to cruise, as they schedule the buses to pick up based on how many are going from what resort to efficiently fill the bus before heading for the port. We stopped at 2 other resorts before starting out to the port.

Thanks!! We plan making the most of our 1 day at MK and sleeping in, so I guess a late start wouldn't be all that bad. But if we are still in the room sleeping/lounging at 8am will someone just knock?

I can't really say. We've always been out of the room by the time they come. I would assume they would knock first.

When we took the bus from POP last year, we left our bags outside the stateroom the night before (as per instruction) so no knocking!

They told you to place the bags outside? That's pretty risky, IMO.

When we took the DCL bus we were always told to keep the bags inside the room. Funny, but on the cruise when they tell you to put your bags outside your cabin for pick up on the last night I have no problem with it but I would not want to put my bags outside my WDW hotel room. I guess I feel there is too much of a chance someone could abscond with it and drive away. Can't imagine someone trying to take my bags and their bags off the cruise lol!! Too hectic the last morning.

Funny, but on the cruise when they tell you to put your bags outside your cabin for pick up on the last night I have no problem with it but I would not want to put my bags outside my WDW hotel room. I guess I feel there is too much of a chance someone could abscond with it and drive away. Can't imagine someone trying to take my bags and their bags off the cruise lol!! Too hectic the last morning.

Ok, now you have my doubting myself. lol. Maybe we placed the luggages outside in the morning (like 6 or 7am, not sure) I might be wrong now!!

Just an FYI - we did not receive a letter in our room and it freaked me out a bit. I ended up calling down to the front desk and they told us to have our bags ready for pickup by 8:30. We were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. A cast member knocked on the door at 8:30 and picked up our luggage. It was really an easy process.

We've always had a letter on our door but often it doesn't get put there until 8:30 or so at night and sometimes we've been at dinner. Kind of freaked me out the first couple of times as I worried that I wasn't properly scheduled but it always worked out. Now I know that they typically pick up the luggage at 8 am (including on both our Med and Northern European cruises - when they say 8 am, they mean 8 am) so I make sure I'm ready for that even if I am out the evening before so that I don't have to pack up and be ready at midnight. It allows us to sleep in a bit and go out for breakfast about 8-ish. They'll pick up even if you're not there. Then we have time to relax and watch TV for a bit after breakfast before going down to pick up the bus.

This past August we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and the letter received the night before in our room gave us a pick up time of 11:30 am. We got on the bus promptly, stopped at Port Orleans, then headed to the port. We were through security, check in, and went through the Mickey Ears at 1:06pm with no waiting around!

Even doing it in the morning, I wouldn't feel comfortable putting them outside at one of the resorts (like MJ). We've always been directed to have them ready to go INSIDE our room by 8:00 am.

Us too. I've only ever put the bags outside the room on the ship. We've always been directed to place them just inside the room. And they're very prompt. Even in Europe - if they say x am, you'd better be ready for them.

It's possible then we did it the same way (waiting for their pick up) I honestly can't remember.. I only remember that last night of the cruise you have to leave the luggage out! but thanks for reminding me for my upcoming trip not to leave my luggage out too early!

Thanks everyone! I will have it all ready by 8. I have plans of sleeping in, but with 2 very excited girls I am sure they will be up and wanting to get on the ship
