First Communion for a boy

Can anyone recommend a good gift for a first communion for a little boy?

Usually in our area the common gift for communion be it for a girl or a boy is money.

Money or gift card. My son just made his First Communion last weekend. The religious gifts he received were very thoughtful, but quite honestly really have no sentimental value for an 8 year old boy. He was far more excited about the money, even though he knew the majority of it was going straight to the bank.

How much money is appropriate? This is for my friend's son.

Just went to our Nephew's yesterday. We gave him $50. He was also very happy with the Rosary he was given. Most people did give him money some just treated it like a birthday and gave games etc... He was thrilled. We gave $50 because we a family most friends gave 20 or 30

On Etsy you can find rosaries made from Lego bricks. I'm thinking of buying one for my six year old son to interest him more in the rosary--he just isn't as interested as his sister was at this age. I figure if I bring Lego into the equation that it will help. You can click the bricks together as you say the prayers.

That's a GREAT idea but I would need it this weekend. Probably too late to have it shipped, bummer.
