Highlights of our trip 12/11-12/17 at POP/BCV.
1. MVMCP--We loved the party and the Parade and Wishes were fantastic. Rides had little or no waits. Only bad thing was the weather--we went 12/14 and it was the coldest night they had in Orlando in 11 months! We had our winter coats, gloves, hats, etc. but we were still shivering cold.
2. Osborne Lights--WOW! I sure am glad I don't have to string all those lights every year.
3. Candlelight Processional with dinner at Le Cellier. Very moving. Josh Morrow did a very good job narrating. I liked the trumpets the best! Our dinner at Le Cellier was very good but they messed up with our seating and some others arriving after us were seated before us. But our server really did a good job trying to make it up to us.
4. Staying in a 2 bedroom villa especially after staying in 2 rooms at POP our first night. We had Room 353, which was a dedicated two-bedroom with 2 queens. Other than an indentation in the wall in the entryway, maybe made from a stroller handle, and some marks on the kitchen table it was in good shape. Very clean. Checked in about 10:30 but didn't get into the rooms until 3:30. Also had a studio #360 for my niece and her family. Big pie-shaped balcony. It was nice having the washer/dryer and dishwasher but I felt like I was trying to clean up more than when we stay in a studio. DH really liked the big jacuzzi tub which is similar to ours at home. Boy, did it ever feel good to soak in it after being in the cold at MVMCP. DH would like to stay in a 1 bedroom from now on but I told him we'd need more points if we did that. Do I see an add-on in our future?
5. Having BOTH our DS and our DD with us on this vacation. Usually only our DD goes with us and our DS stays home and takes care of the farm. This time he went with us and so did his girlfriend.
6. Hoop De Doo--We had a great time! Thought the ribs and chicken were very good. Just wish they had some type of potato with the meal. The strawberry shortcake was awesome! I had to eat mine in a hurry though as my DS was chosen to be the Indian scout and I had to film it, of course. You know, future blackmail material! LOL.
7. Christmas decorations at the theme parks and resorts were great!
8. DVC Member Merry Mixer was very nice. We didn't have much time there as we were going to MVMCP but did get our picture taken with Chip and Dale and enjoyed the hot cider and cookies. DD liked the key chain so well, I didn't have to buy her one while we were at WDW. I hope DVC does more of these throughout the year.
We had a really good time but I don't think we'll go back in December! We don't want to take a chance of such cold weather again and I enjoy all the preparations for Christmas and it didn't seem like Christmas was just a few days away while we were on vacation. Now I'm twice as busy finishing things up for Christmas as well as the usual end of year bookkeeping for our farm.
