Well, we finally had our first celebrity sighting last night at Philarmagic in the Magic Kingdom. Toby Keith sat about 7 seats down from us with his family/friends and had two of the plaid-shirted VIP escorts. Seemed down to earth and walked in with the regular crowd.....

Jim Cavaziel... He's an interesting (and oh so attractive) person.

Married to Susan Lucci? Your joking right? Toby Keith is a country/western singer that is very popular these days because of his patriotic and fun songs.

Jewell is hanging out with a famous rodeo personality. I don't remember which one because I don't follow rodeo but I remember a story about it.

We saw Erik Estrada at the Yacht Club front desk about three weeks ago. Maybe he was in Florida doing some more commercials for that housing developement that he has been doing lately. :teeth:

Toby Keith, the patriotc guy?...Now I remember. He was the struggling Country artist who decided being a spokesman for red, white and blue, mom and apple pie would be good for business and has ridden the theme all the way to the bank.

I read an interview with a former bandmate who claimed his patriotism was nothing more than an appeal to 'his base' in hopes of scoring big...A ploy. Well, it worked I guess. Why anyone would admire him is beyond me though. pirate:

I happen to be a fan, and I happen to like his music, and oh, by the way, I am just fine with his patriotism or music. If you don't like his music change the channel....rather than take a swipe at someone....but hey, maybe that's just the way you are.

No, maybe it's just the way you are.

I never said not to like his music. Hey, I love Ashley Judd's acting, I think she's great but I hate her politics. I just think it's sad that a performer can milk something like patriotism all the way to the bank, espeicially when he apparantely doesn't come by those feelings naturally. pirate:

Mr. Pirate, you've put a lot weight on the statement of a former bandmember. Any chance "hard feelings" played into this guy's statement?

I agree with Peter. No one knows for sure, but it sure seems that this guy is all about the money!! :guilty:

Mr. Keith is currently on tour with "Uncle" Ted Nugent (sort of a patriotic tour). Anyone wanna try and say Uncle Ted's stance is all an act too?

Ted has been Ted from day one. What kind of music did Toby do before he found success with the Stars-n-Stripes ?

Hey, I don't blame the guy one bit. He figured out the sound people wanted to hear and gave them what they were willing to pay for. It's the American Dream.

I agree with most of this. Ted was an ******* when he did 'Cat Scratch Fever' and he's still an ******* today.

I don't know for a fact that Toby adopted his current personna for profit (only what I read), but if he did, his ingenuity is to be applauded but his character is subject to assail, IMO. Same with Charlie Daniels, the once Country rebel turned rich guy patriot. pirate:

Exactly what was the purpose of this thread? I thought we were all supposed to tell everyone that we sighted a celebrity at WDW, but it seems to be another bashing party. What gives? Do we have to turn everything into a gunfight at the OK corral! :confused3
