Hi,
Kim!
Welcome to The DIS!
I normally don't pop into this specific forum too much (I'm over in the
Disneyland/California section of the board), but for some reason I happened to see your thread title and when I opened it I discovered that you will be visiting Disneyland Resort for New Year's Eve!
I wanted to invite you to join us (myself and other members of the Disneyland forum) in the
Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread -
Here . If you skim down the first 12 posts on Page 1 of that thread (and I am actually still in the process of revising the last couple of those posts), you will get a good sense of what you can expect for your NYE trip, in terms of highlights, treats, decorations, and overall seasonal merriment. We cover the whole holiday season, from when it starts in mid-November to Three Kings Day in early January.
You will get to experience Haunted Mansion Holiday and It's a Small World Holiday -- two extensive, detailed holiday ride overlays -- as well as the jubilant Viva Navidad, World of Color-Winter Dreams, A Christmas Fantasy Parade, etc.!
I can also look up a couple of New Year's Eve-specific threads for you from people who have gone in the last year or two. I recall one from this past New Year's, and I have the link to the thread saved somewhere or another. I will find it!
One interesting thing you might want to consider is the Masquerade Bash at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney on New Year's Eve, which sounds like a lot of fun.
