First birthday without my dad.

Today is what would have been my dad's 81st birthday. Dad passed away a little over 5 months ago. DH, DS and I put a note in a balloon and then we went to the beach (one of his favorite places) and we released three balloons in his honor. He has been on my mind a lot lately and although I miss him there have been a lot of happy thoughts. Just wanted to share and say Happy Birthday, Dad!

I agree, the first year is the hardest. Feb 9 will be one year since FIL died, and we only have one more "day" to go through, his and SMIL's anniversary. For me, his birthday was the hardest, for DH, Father's Day was agony.
