I have decided to make small finger sandwiches cut into fun shapes for my DD's first birthday party. Does anyone have ideas as to what kind of sandwiches I should or should not make? I will make peanutbutter since my DD loves it, but I need other options since I don't know about other kids and allergies and such. Thanks in advance!

Are the sandwiches for kids or adults?
I don't know if kids would like these but here are some tea style sandwich ideas; egg salad, chicken salad, pesto cream cheese w/ cucumber. Those are just a few I've done.
For kids I might try a thin layer of lunch meat and cheese.
A good trick is to thinly spread the bread with butter or margarine. That keeps the insides from seeping thru the bread.

yeah i work with kids.. and they love fridays which are picnic lunch days! we do jelly sandwiches or ham or turkey sandwiches! they love them!
