I went in Mar.2001 before the heightened security. But I had no problems at WDW,their First Aid stations have diabetic supplies in case you ever need their help[I forget to replenish the syringes in my kit,and the first aid station at MGM was able to supply one, even wanted to know if I needed insulin. they had great WDW stickers for using there services, too!!]. The last day at WDW we were at Epcot and at the first aide station I ask If I could leave my used syringes to be added to their sharps container and they did take them and all they wanted was a signature!!
TWA was a little concerned about my syringes and ask that I only carry on what I needed for the flight, which was 1 each way.
And I didn't want to carry used syringes on the flight home[medical waste across state lines sort of stuff] and that's why I ask the first aid station at WDW if I could leave them in their sharps container. Which they had no problem with.
ps. Watch your blood sugar levels extra carefully!! All the walking and excitement, and not getting your meals on time can play absolute heck with your blood sugar. I even had a unaware low blood sugar it was down to 40 before I knew what was happening! Only my teen daughter knew how to treat it with glucose tablets!! Be sure to carry a 3x4 card that has your Dr. instruction on how to treat low blood sugar or high blood sugar so those with you or those who will need to treat you know what to do!!!! And carry it with your supplies and make sure those with you know where it is!!
If you are running low,it maybe a great time to have a Goofy Ice cream bar!!
