First aid

I don't need anything thank God just wondering is it like a pharmacy with different medications

A clinic with a bed and some medications

last a ER where if you all of a sudden get sick or hurt that is were you go sort of thing

in other words I hear people using it for different things

No, it is not an ER staffed with Doctors. It is a First Aid center with ice packs. If you need a band aid, you can go to First Aid.

Two years ago, my husband experienced heatstroke at the end of a very long, hot August day. We had been waiting for Fantasmic to begin when just as the music began and the show started, my DH says, "I feel strange" :scared1: He started breathing heavy, sweating, said that he felt like he was going to pass out.

I walked him up the aisle to the top and propped him against a garbage can and started to leave him to get a CM when out he went. Fortunately, he passed out over the garbage can and the CMs came running to help get him to the ground.

A wheel chair was brought and they escorted us to the family bathroom for the closest air conditioning where we waited for the paramedics to arrive. At this point the CMs and paramedics walked us behind the scenes to the main entrance and into the First Aid station building where they gave him fluids and monitored his blood pressure while he stabilized (DH has High BP).

Anyway, since we were going home the next day anyway, we opted out of an ER visit and a very nice CM drove us back to the GF in a passenger van.

think of the school nurses office from elementary school only bigger and better. (cause what isn't better at Disney!?)

They can store medication and medical equipment for you during your day. (just like the school nurse)

They have cots in curtained off 'rooms' (three walls one curtain). It is a/c'ed.

My daughter was starting to show signs of heat exhaustion, so I went in and asked if my daughter could just lay down for a little while. there was a chair in the room with the cot, and they had a water cooler as well, the nurse suggested I get her to drink some water. At first DD wasn't feeling up to it, but after about 20 min she finally felt up to drinking water. Before we left the nurse offered to give her a Gatorade, but my kid wouldn't drink it and neither would I.

First aid is just a great place for quiet too. I could have easily fallen asleep while my kid was resting.

Hello there. Disney is very well prepared for any emergencies that might come your way. Is there an ER? NO. However, the nurses there are very well trained for what they do and very nice. They can cool you down, help with blood sugar issues, call 911 and administer CPR, use an AED, and basic first aid. It is better than most other public areas and there is always a first aid station for bandaids, tylenol, and mylanta. There are also "baby care" stations that are air condition and we have used them to change our son (who has mild CP so wear are still potty training him at age 4 and he is doing great). The Disney staff wants you do have a happy vacation so you come back!! :yay:

AK, DHS and MK all have a rescue squad (paramedic team) backstage during park hours with a golf-cart emergency vehicle. For Epcot, the Fire Station at Buena Vista Drive and Victory Way has direct access to backstage.

For any medical emergency which requires more than First Aid can do the Alpha Unit will come in.

Get injured. Go to first aid. File a lawsuit and complain on the Dis about how dangerous things are.

As posted the first aid stations are just that - somewhere to get first aid. For those with a known disability they are also able to provide somewhere appropriate that you (or your carer) can administer medication in a quiet, private environment or when needed somewhere quiet and air conditioned to lie down whilst medication takes effect. The staff are well trained and will work with you to help you as much as possible within their own guidelines.
